Shaqiri

Inter agreeing a fee is one thing, Shaqiri agreeing to move to Stoke is quite something else. I', sure I read a quote yesterday from his agent saying something along the lines of 'Shaqiri to Stoke ? Not on your life' !

That might turn out better for Lamela than for Shaqiri. Lamela is a talented wuss who lacks the mental or physical strength you need in the Prem but has previously proven well suited to Serie A. Shaqiri on the other hand seems to rate himself pretty highly, so could be attracted by what he might perceive as Tottenham's higher status relative to Stoke's, but I for one am not convinced everything in the garden is rosy at White Hart Lane.

Better journos such as Basscombe,Hunter & Joyce are all saying if Sterling goes Cheryshev and Pedro would be under consideration however Inter seem to want shot of Shaqiri surely he would be easier to sign than than Pedro and only 23. Club football he only scores 1 in 5 but for Switzerland he is 1 in 3 don't know about assists. Apparently though he is a winger meant to be speedy and good with both feet. his frame is similar to Sterling and is hard to knock off the ball. and would probably suit the league.

How are we going to fit Coutinho, Sterling or his replacement, Firmino, Lallana, Ibe, Markovic, Origi, Ings, Sturridge & Benteke or whatever other striker we sign into the same team.

Does Rodger's new technical direction involve playing without a defence?

Emm...we don't have to actually play them all at the same time. And it's likely that at least three of them will be injured for any match. That and the fact that we can only rely on Sturridge from that list to score goals for us, means we need to buy someone who scores goals.

It's not the number of players we have, it's their ability to be able to help us win matches. If we don't have players that can do that, we need some more.

There's no in between with Shaqiri though, he's either anonymous or he's Sanchez-lite, just one calorie.
