Khedira linked with us.

It is the Metro (don't shoot the messenger!). Marca link him with Schalke, prob more realistic/

6 months ago he would have been amazing - time is still on his side. But he seems to have struggled this season and does not have the energy of old. Surprising no one has gone for him yet.

As a freebie, probably a no-brainer. If things go tits up, he would still attract good deal of attention.

Liverpool are ready to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira at the end of the season as a replacement for Steven Gerrard.
The Reds are currently scouring Europe for a world-class central midfielder with Gerrard leaving for LA Galaxy in the summer.
Miralem Pjanic of Roma has been strongly linked, but reports say Liverpool are now in for Khedira.
He’s set to become a free agent at the end of the campaign have turned down a new contract with Madrid – and Liverpool could snap him up if they can fend off competition from Schalke.
Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with him, but neither side are in talks, and Liverpool could sign him to a pre-contract straight away.

Its actually the Metro quoting the Echos gossip page quoting Sport Bild:

German football magazine SportBild have a big feature in their Wednesday edition on the future of Sami Khedira. The Real Madrid midfielder has a contract which runs out in June and is therefore available on a free transfer. Khedira is even free to now talk with any interested clubs about a move and sign a pre-contract agreement, which would commit him to the move once his Real Madrid deal ends.

On the face of it, it's a great opportunity for any club looking for a midfielder. Khedira is still only 27 years old and when he's on form is an excellent addition to the vast majority of teams. The concern for Liverpool, and any other interested clubs, would be Khedira's injury record. His appearances over the last few seasons have been low in number and that's been largely down to injury.

SportBild say Liverpool are looking at Khedira as a replacement for Steven Gerrard and although the Anfield legend has had his own shares of injuries, they haven't been as damaging to his career as Khedira's recent troubles have. It may very well be worth taking a gamble on Khedira and SportBild say that, as well as Liverpool, several clubs are considering it.

Khedira had been repeatedly linked in the Spanish media with a move to Bayern Munich but SportBild think that if he does return to the Bundesliga then Khedira's likely club would be Schalke.

He didn't impress Mourinho at Real and that would worry me. Like him or loathe him, Mourinho's a good judge of a player.

He struggled for a year after an ACL injury as pretty much everyone does. Next season he'll be better.

Is that his second ACL tear on the same knee or one in each knee?

If he's not already signed up somewhere I'm guessing his wage demands are on the excessive side. For the right money I would be tempted.

Is he? He's good at buying expensive players.

He brings in players and shifts them out so easily. De Bruyne and schurrle are recent players who he's binned off for little reason

If a player doesn't fit his idea, then he bins them. That doesn't mean they're not great players

Only if he buys them for over £30 million. Never developed a player. Never improved a player. Buys ready-made mercenaries. Oh and he's a massive cunt.

A tad harsh. He played a massive role in developing Terry and Lampard into one of the best players in their positions. He has improved Hazard too and Joe Cole (who then regressed)

Buying a talent like hazard and making him worse would be stupidly difficult thing to do.

his biggest fault is the style of football he plays. Through his career he has had some incredible talent, but he seems to suffocate them, admittedly he gets results, but it is a pain to watch,

I've never quite understood the fuss over him though I think the Baros look makes me really struggle to judge him objectively. No thanks.
