SA v England & Wales

Wizzy old pal, in cricket it's "innings" in the singular as well as the plural.

Translation: We're going to have be bloody lucky like the 1st test in order to come out of this test with a draw.

*points and laughs at the silly Englishman with LTW*

Smith out after a magnificent inning of 183 ... 'twas a no ball that got him but considering he was gone at 51, I guess it's 'fair'.

That is 3.10+ runs an over ...

Sounds easy doesn't it! ;D

The bookies are offering 8/1 against England at lunch, which surprises me - I thought the odds would be longer than that. I suppose it's a funny old game, and if Strauss and Cook had a big opening stand, they might have a look at chasing the target in the morning. However, as soon as a wicket falls, they will go into their shell again.

Funnily enough, after the past Harris over, I'm a wee bit worried!

We need a wicket or two before close to make this interesting, otherwise, I'd actually put my money on Ingerlund if I was a betting man.

This would be remarkable. It is unlikely in the extreme, but everyone would have to hold their hands up and say that this was one of the best ever test matches if England pulled it off. Really, really can't see it loike.

I'll be very interested if KP can find it in himself to bat responsibly, just this once.

The aussies were 9/1 at the start of play today... hence why the odds may be lower right now.

No chance for England & Wales to win this Test match. If we get close then the SA's will just start bowling negatively.

60 overs to go... Following it on the beeb text.

Hang on there Colly & Bell... The last test's weather looks a bit dodgy to say the least.

If we get 'em out in 20-30 overs, we'll win. But both are very very capable lads and time will tell.

Steyn giving them hell with the second new ball- but they're hanging in there, just about. If they can take the shine off this cherry then there may be hope. Hope is a dangerous thing in respect of the England cricket team- it usually precedes collapse.

Well there was a collapse, from a position of imperious confidence, no less. Just not a fatal collapse- bloody close to it though.

There is no player in world cricket more suited to this situation than Paul Collingwood. I love this comment about him on the Guardian board:

"I understand there are rumours that Paul Collingwood is made from melted down aircraft carriers and eats sawdust as a tasty snack. Experts tell me that after a nuclear holocaust the only things to survive will be rats, cockroaches and Paul Collingwood."

Colly was bloody lucky to survive Steyn's bowling, but better to be lucky than good sometimes.

~30 overs to go or so ... This will be a draw unfortunately. Props to England's lower half.

Anybody needs luck to survive a new ball delivered by a top quickie.

Colly is nuggety as a nuggety nugget.

England are now 211-8 with some wonderful bowling from debutant De Wet.

2 more wickets to go (Collingwood & Swann at the crease, Onions still to go).

COME ON SOUTH AFRICA! 9 more overs ...

GET THIS WIN!
