I wanted HOdgson instead of Dalglish simply because he'd done well with Fulham and Dalglish hadnt managed in over a decade.

I knew no really good manager would come here; but if I'd foreseen our disastrous football I'd rather we got some nobody from anywhere.

Define 'well with Fulham'

Leading them from relegation fodder to two of their most accomplishing seasons in their history
12 Fulham 38 11 3 5 27 15 1 7 11 12 31 -7 46 Table 2010
07 Fulham 38 11 3 5 28 16 3 8 8 11 18 5 53 Table 2009
17 Fulham 38 5 5 9 22 31 3 7 9 16 29 -22 36 Table 2008

I think there FA Cup run that ended in a cup final defeat in 1975 was a bigger accompishment than last Seasons EL?
Winning 7 away games in 3 Seasons isn't an accomplishment, especially considering the Season before we hired him, they won a staggering ONE away game all season?
I didn't say it was the most accomplishing season. Learn to read. And besides, I think Fulham fans would regard a European final higher than an FA Cup final, but you would have to ask them. Either way, what I said stands.

Agreed avvy, although is it certain that fernando and stevie would have left?
Nothing is certain but from what I heard, that was potentially the scenario.

No, but I'd have put money on Torres going had Rafa stayed. Stevie going I'm less sure about, but that wouldn't have surprised me either.

I heard Graham Hunter being interviewed on Newstalk (Irish station) and he claimed a deal between Madrid and Gerrard's advisors was all agreed and word was given to the Madrid directors that a deal could be concluded quickly. This was before Mourhino was even appointed. When the club acted and sacked Rafa, Gerrard called it all off.

No you said it was TWO of his most accomplishing (sic) seasons heres the quote 'Leading them from relegation fodder to two of their most accomplishing seasons in their history' and if that wasn't you who said it, YOU learn to read because thats who I was replying too.

I absolutely believe that had Benitez stayed, Gerrard and Torres would have left.

Do people not remember the clip of Stevie G looking over at the bench thinking - you fat waster, what are you doing??

Yeah.

1st - Their highest league position in the League.
2nd - European final.

Jesus Christ.

Yup, against Brum ...

True, but I'm not convinced he'd have gone through with it in the end. His roots in the club and the city are amazingly deep. Remember the agonies he went through when the Chavs tapped him up.

Nobody here is hankering after Benitez either, so I don't know what Benitez going mental has got to do with anything.

Brendung, you realise if you keep this up, we're heading for 24 hours in the pen.

Keep it shut.

Roy deserves more time, six league games in and we're already fucking him off. Benitez has gone, move the fuck on.

Brendan, stop stalking Terrier. Harass me instead. Thanks.

Oh don't be such a greedy cunt Brendung.

Let's share the throne.

You've been up there all alone for a while.

I have to say I've never thought of Terrier as a version of Brendan, even a shit one. Though if he is attempting to be like Brendan, then it is a shit effort.
