For those who want more time for Hodgson, can you say why?

Liverpool Way? Could turn good? Just want to hear the logic, in case I'm knee jerking again

Probably agree on the third mainly cos of george, although the fianl scene of four is in my opinion the greatest piece of british tv ever.

By a long long way.

First series blackadder or the latter one? 😉
Second. Which is the best IMO.

The second and forth are all probably the best, but all bar the first series are comedy classics; almost every episode. I love General Melchett and Officer Darling in the forth.

Can it be true? That I hold here in my mortal hand, a nugget of purest *green*?

Lord Percy is indeed comedy gold. Or comedy green.

The moment George says he's scared changes everything and it suddenly stops becoming funny. And Blackadder's final line is perfect. Beautifully done and a big fuck off to the ponces in the media who said they were being 'disrespectful'.

Disrespectful?

Did they really say that?

That show was so excellent; every episode was both funny and tinged with a dark foreboding..everyone knew what was going on..the final scene was just superb.

Haha.

We could have a whole thread of these.

"I'm anaspeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericobobulations."

18 episodes of one of the best comedies ever to choose from and someone posts the scene where they all get shot, speaks volumes about the mental state of our fans right now.

'Lord Farrow never wore a bag m'lord, he was an old-fashioned kind of a gent'
'Well yes i had been wondering all along, actually, why you thought Baldrick with a bag on his head is some kind of dead-ringer for Lord Farrow - because he's not!'

'Listen, cretins...'

Worship?

I think Rafa is the best manager we have had since Dalglish, I think Roy is not Liverpool quality.

Its not worship, but I give credit where credit is due.
He had LOST the best players on the team last year - Yes, he is a good manager but he was very poor with Liverpool last year and most of us, bar those RAWKites, wanted him out. Man, had Rafa stayed, no Gerrard, no Torres ... YOU would rather have that?
He had to go, no-one can deny that. Best manager since Kenny though
Of course ... but to make it seems as if it would have been better with him here is ridiculous. I won't get into the idiotic name calling of him, or our players or current manager, but Rafa had to go. That should NEVER take away from the magical nights we enjoyed under him.
Nailed it.

Lots of scenes, of course..but since Forth is my fvourite I immdiately thought of the final scene.

I'd have posted the scene even if we were flying.

Sadly, it's Roy and not Terrier who reminds me of Baldric tonight.
Nah, Baldrick's always so optimistic.

It feels weird to be taking up that challenge as I didn't want Roy appointed in the first place. However, here goes:

1. We've been here before. Kenny's time as player-manager started off in a VERY similar way, to the extent that the man himself gave at least one newspaper interview saying he'd go if the club wanted him to, and look how that turned out.

2. This few games into his first season, there is simply no way of making a sensible once-and-for-all judgment on how any manager will turn out.

3. Junking Roy now is bound to cost lots. He may well not have expected to be here that long anyway, but if his advisers are any good that'll be all the more reason to have beefed up the relevant clause(s) in his contract.

4. Adding to the general air of gloom and chaos around the club is the last thing we need, whether from the point of view of morale or from that of needing to keep the "product" attractive for potential buyers.

Let me be clear - I'm not arguing for the current situation to be ignored, or anything like it. Immediate improvement is required, and I'd be in favour of giving Roy an ultimatum (which I'd hope was set as a target for him when he was appointed anyway): top four by the end of this season or you're toast. Getting rid before then, though, runs the very real risk IMO of making things worse rather than better.

good try jj. first flaw though is that kenny had never managed before, grandpa's been allegedly managing for decades.

of course we'll give him more games but the writings on the wall. if he isn't sacked by xmas its because of the turmoil off the pitch as i'm certain he's performance on it will still be well below what most of us would find acceptable.

Can't see the 'VERY similar' really, Kenny team was an attacking creative team, he made clever substitutions and changed formation when needed.

Roy puts his head in hands so he can't see the mess on the field, and doesn't change anything unless a physio says 'you need to make a sub, player Xxxx is unable to continue'
