His press call before the game was embarrassing. That admission that he knows jack sh!t about them was cringemaking and that reference to Ecuadoreans not knowing about English lower league teams, as if they were a valid comparison for the Ecuador national team, was plain stupid. The Ecuador manager publicly objected to it and you can bet he used it in his team talk. Lampard had to sit there agreeing with him, but I wonder what he was really thinking.
