I suspect you're correct, and this tallies with what Klopp said about taking a break - without specifying a time like Guardiola did. I also wonder at what point these plans to significantly improve the team and/or backroom staff get leaked to start trying to win the fans back.

I wouldn't have been devastated if he'd been sacked, but I think I generally wanted him to stay. That said Hodgson is the only LFC manager I have ever wanted gone so its fair to say that I am fairly conservative on the sacking scene.

I can't believe people would post that they almost will us to do shit so he gets the boot. What a fucking scumbag attitude to have. He's staying, for now, so I hope he does well and rights his wrongs. It hasn't all been shit, we were fucking great for 18 months. I'd have given Kenny more time, because I don't want to see us become a joke of a club who rotates managers after every hurdle, so I'm not going to take a different stance with Rodgers. Hopefully he AND the club learn from the mistakes of last season.
Personally if he's staying I hope we do well and leave ourselves in contention by that point, rather than us capitulate just to ease the ego of some trigger happy "fan".

My guess is majority of fans want us to do great... But then again we dont do great, we do fu king shit most of the season. Dont blame fans for being angry, rather blame Rodger for doing a shit job?

I haven't once absolved Rodgers of blame for this season or excused the results. I've said we shouldn't be trigger happy and we should look at the broader picture of his time with us. I said the same with Kenny, we should pull the plug on managers everytime we hit a hurdle, because we don't have the resources of the top clubs to constantly dig ourselves out of it by starting again, financially or in terms of time to build.
It's pointless even debating with you when you're stance is the same. Everything bad is his fault, anything good has been in spite of him. Whatever.
Although it's not what we expected or what we wanted, if no replacement is available, then it's the right decision. I'd like to think that he's been told in no uncertain terms that he needs to improve results straight away, no bedding in next season or they'll change regime.

Rodgers is extremely lucky to still have a job. I hope he does well but he's used up all his credit and more now. Hopefully he will get the team up and running when the season starts and not at Christmas as has been the usual under his management. I actually think that they are ambitious, they have a long game, and they are sticking to it. They're not listening to the conventional wisdom that we've been following for the last decade or two.
I'm yet to be convinced that the plan will work, but it's pretty obvious that trying to compete with the like of United, Chelsea and City by playing them at their own game is never going to work. We need to do something different, something more in the Arsenal model, and then hope we have a bit more luck than they have had.

If one of them were available then we obviously should have replaced Rodgers. But seeing as there arent any clear candidates out there that will improve us then there is no reason to do this now.
