Return of 2 former reds

I am a bit meh to both of them coming back to be honest.

They may well add a bit of strength and something different to the squad but I would prefer if we were to go out and get younger players who can do a similar role but have room to develop and improve in the future

bellemy > n'gog
yossi > cole

so it is improving the squad.
Aquilani>yossi>cole

Just to piss you off some more.

it would be really weird if either of these come off. both of them would deffo add to the squad, which says a lot.

Didn't Yossi ask to leave? I can't remember if that was confirmed or if it was all made-up bollocks.
No, Benitez told him to find a new club after the Hull game.
Bastard. All right then, I'd have them both back... Bellamy would be the more pressing need in my opinion and I would be happy to see him come back, but Yossi would be a better option off the bench than Cole, Aquilani, etc. so I'd welcome him back as well.

Ha. Didn't know that...

Bellamy shouldn't have been sold in the first place. He would be a great addition to the squad.

I'd happily take them both, as long as they pass more stringent medicals than we usually give new players, and as long as their contracts are fairly short and not TOO remunerative. I assume this is why we are only 'looking' at them.

Agreed, I think they'd be a massive boost tbh, especially Bellamy, we need a sort of like for like alternative to Suarez, fresh legs and all that.

He had to go after that incident with JAR, plus actually making a profit on a player his age is not to be sneezed at.

If his wage demands are reasonable though, and if he's happy to be an understudy, I certainly wouldn't say no.

Yeah apparently he was warned when he signed that if he fucked up he'd be out the door, he more or less held his hands up to the fact and hasn't bitched about it since either.

Given our ridiculous shortage in the striking department since then, the club should have overlooked Bellers' indiscretion.

We may have sold him for a small profit at £7.5m but West Ham pretty much doubled their money 18 months later.

I agree the club should have handled things differently, but not in the way you indicate. Not only had Bellamy been warned about his future conduct when he signed, he then set about a teammate with a golf club. You can't turn a blind eye in such circs IMHO. What the club should have done is replace him properly, so that the ridiculous shortage you rightly refer to never arose.

Bellamy would strengthen us but Yossi won't! I'd love to have that mad hatter back pus he'd offer us some pace and goals too

Forgive me if I dont get excited by either of these.

Would rather see Morgan and Sterling get a go than either of these

speaking of which i really hope we see sterling and morgan this season in the league, save raheem for the cup though

Jules - we've all heard about the golf club but isn't it possible that there was some exaggeration regarding what actually happened? Did Riise miss any games as a result of Bellers' attempt to improve his handicap?

It doesn't seem long since the days of Kenny, Rushie etc. Rushie mentions in his book a night out during a post season European tour. He was so drunk that standing up was no longer possible and he slumped to the floor knocking pint pots all over the place. His best mate, Hodgson, thought someone had knocked him out and therefore proceeded to throw punches at anyone within range which lead to a mass brawl amongst the first team squad. They reported for training with black eyes, cuts and bruises etc.

This happened back when a pre or post season friendly might warrant an inch column three pages from the back of the Echo and therefore it was never reported. Had it happened in this era, the club might have needed to transfer most of the first eleven.

Didnt our evil benefactor tweet 'dont even think about us signing older players' or words to that effect a month ago?
