That's what I've been trying to point out before. If there is a weakness in Lallana's game, it's that. He needs to release the ball quicker when it's appropriate.

Macca, read the hyperbole mate, we were going to get thrashed, embarrassed, etc. Like I said earlier, maybe we won't and maybe the line up the other week wasnt suited to tonight. We've shown character here tonight, maybe not enough endeavour, but not the cave in, defeatist crap people were talking about.

We played for a draw and maybe to nick it at the end. Instead we lost. We didn't play our strongest team with a view to other games. We had very very little chance of winning based on how we played. That's defeatist. It might be smart too, I've not got a clue.
You could argue that was the case regardless, but you seem to think that Rodgers put the team out with the expectation that it was most likely to get a result in this game, I just don't think thats supportable. I think Rodgers hedged his bets here a little, and given we've spent so long trying to be in this competition, it is frustrating to see Real, who aren't that great, pass it about at a canter and listen as we're described as plucky try hards who played manfully, in the same way that you'd hear of a non league side in the FA cup.
Ha ha, Mark's absolutely fantastic but his admirable desire to be positive sometimes leads to a fit. I don't like arguing with him, he's a great fella.
I think we'll struggle to get out of this group - but the performance against one of the best teams in Europe (them or Bayern) was a pleasant surprise.

I'm not after a superfan trophy. They're the best team in Europe at the minute, they've been averaging +4 goals a game, we went there and set up different, dropped a few big names and kept it tight, with a bit more about us in the final third, we might have nicked one, at least we were in the game in the 46th minute, let alone the 93rd.
We could have gone there with Balloteli, Gerrard and co and lost a few goals and proved fuck all. Believe what you want to believe, be pissed off that we weren't saved by Mario and Gerrard who can barely buy a goal, at least we've actually learned something about a few players tonight, instead of watching the same drivel we've dished up for the last several games.

I thought second half we played well. Restricted a barely trying Madrid to long shots and not much more. They could have had a sackload in the first half but in reality won the game without getting sweaty.
Kolo was good, Mignolet did will. Lucas, Can and Allen was our best midfield of the season but the front three didnt function at all.
For 20m I expect much more from Lallana and Markovic who created next to nothing. Borini was ok but had zero service.

I think its actually possible for us to qualify with seven points if Basel lose to us and RM
Pretty much, though we pushed higher, I thought we were more vulnerable on the break and Sterling didn't give us anything.
Toure, Lucas, Can and Lallana were our best players, easily.
