Ratings - LFC vs Arsenal

Reina 8 - Great saves. Clean sheet!

Carra 7 - Assured performance.
Agger 7 - Rock solid. Don't get injured.

Kelly 7 - Very good performance, should have started against Sunderland. One mistake that should have been a free kick. Good going forward
Enrique 8 - No one, and I mean no ONE, get's passed him. Bargain.

Lucas 7 - Great link up with Ming and Luis for the goal. Protected the back line.
Adam 6 - Decent performance. Some good passes from him, looks like he lost a few pounds. Will get better.
Henderson 5 - Slowed down our attack at times, looked nervous. He's young and he's still learning. Shouldn't be starting.

Downing 7 - Our most dangerous player for the greater part of the game. Linked up well with the fullbacks.
Kuyt 5 - Poor passing, poor decisions, poor crosses. Wasn't his day.

Carroll 5 - Worked his socks off but to no avail. Had one or two decent chances. Denied by the Arsenal keeper. Needs better deliveries.

Subs:

Meireles 8 - Great impact, intelligent runs. Did what Henderson/Kuyt should have done and more.
Suarez 9 - Won us the game.

Agger 7 - Great Performance, Goes on thse little runs forward with pace, hopefully stays fit.

Kelly 7 - Very good performance, defended well, attacked well.
Enrique 8.5 - Signing of the season so far, absolute beast!

Lucas 7 - Solid performance.
Adam 6.5 - Good Performance, although some of his set-pieces were abit poor today.
Henderson 5.5 - Still young and learning, didn't do much wrong, but didn't really do much either. Needs to take risks instead of playing it safe always.

Downing 8 - Another great signing and game, cant believe people were upset over his signing.
Kuyt 5 - Nothing worked for him today, poor performance.

Carroll 5.5 - Worked his socks off but had no luck. Vermaelen is a top defender.

Meireles 8 - Really needs to be starting, was one of our best players last season.

Suarez 8.5 - Amazing, Lively as always. Absolute superstar

MOTM - Enrique, kept Walcott quiet all game

Some deserved a "5" today despite the win.
Meireles and Suarez coming on and winning us the game shouldn't somehow elevate other players ratings, especially those who weren't playing when we scored two goals.

If so, how dare you give Meireles 7.6 instead of 7.7?
Anyone with even half a brain knows that Meireles deserves at least a 7.7 score.

kuyt is the forum's anti-lucas. both decent players, one massively overrated, the other massively underrated.

not that i want to encourage your aquilani mania, but you might find it a useful line of argument to point out to people making the point about the lack of interest that there was a less marked, but still notable, lack of interest in alonso when he was for sale in 2008, and does that make him a bad player, etc.
