Zlatan: "In my opinion, we are stronger than Inter because now I am at Milan. With Robinho's arrival we are more complete, we are favourites to win the Scudetto and the Champions League. "

Rafa: "Football has changed a bit. This week I have heard it said that the Rossoneri are favourites to win everything. They said the same in Istanbul when I faced the Rossoneri with Liverpool. They said it until the end of the first half of that match, but then something changed."

Well played Zlatan you massive twat.

I honestly wonder how Zlatan will do on a team that has little chance to win the league ... His first time on such a team ...

Bill and Bob are our legends.

Joe and Kenny are in the next bracket.

Ged and Rafa are in the third bracket imo.
Pretty much yeah.

Modokay, just because the club is currently at the level in once was doesnt mean Rafa's achievements mean as much as either Paisley's or Shank's, & doesnt put him on par with them as a 'legend' it simply means our expectations are lower.

Legend is term much overused today, as are many superlatives actually, you need to sit back & compare it properly to history to look at something as a 'legend'.
YEEEWWWWwwww what? Joe Fagan (Treble winner) and Kenny Dalglish (3 League titles and 2 fa cups) not to mention Fagan as assistant manager to Paisley and Coach under Shanks, and Kenny's ridiculous playing career and trophy haul.
You two on a wind up?
LEG.ENDS FACT!

Haha - Zlatan being a massive Zlatan. But in reverse.

When Chelsea win the European Cup their manager will become a Stamford Bridge legend.

Just because we had won it four times already when Rafa won it shouldn't diminish his achievement

Istanbul was a legendary night - perhaps the most legendary night in our history, or even in football history. Everyone connected with it - yes, even Djimi - has some of its afterglow reflected on to them. Rafa more than most, obviously. If he'd died the next day, he would be regarded as a legend at LFC, without any doubt. Even in May 2007 that might have been true. But what happened after that soured everything, and gave us a clearer idea of the kind of manager he is.

He might be a legend/saint/martyr on RAWK, but not for me.

Bit tricky, this.

If we're talking managerial legendariness, I'd tend to agree.

Both Fagan and Kanny achieved phenomenal success, but to give them equal status as Shanks and Bob is a bit of an ask.

Bunnyman is right. The way he finally signed a massive contract in Feb 09, got complete power, fucked it all up - and never once mentioned the yanks again... It just sticks in the throat.

2 CL finals in 3 years after 20 years without was awesome. You wonder if that will ever happen again... but once Pako left and he got Parry out he just seemed to become a weird mentalist with no plan B.

He was a very good manager who helped to produce the best moment in our history........i liked him a lot.

I don't think anyone else has earned the right to stand next to Shanks and Bob though personally.

I think Bunny is right in that had Rafa gone after 2005 or even 2007, he'd have been regarded a legend. It all went downhill after that though.

The next manager who wins the league (presuming we will actually win it again) will have a good shot at legend status presuming he sustains a bit of success.

We take it for granted now that English teams are a dominant force in the CL, but that wasn't the case before 2005. Ferguson struggled to reach beyond the quarters since 1999 as did Wenger too. And both had teams that were far superior to our 2005 winning team and our 2007 finalists.

When questioned about the lack of success in the CL in comparison to ours in the late 70s/early80s, Neville said it was harder now in the new CL format than it was back then. Then along came Rafa and got us to two finals (winning it once) to shove those words down rat face's throat.

Yeah, I agree there's no doubt Rafa would have been a legend if he left after that final in 2007
