Oncy made some brilliant Irn Bru comment about Charlie Adam. Thats my favourite moment.

There were some good perfomances but in the end he wasnt good enough. Nothing against him really.
Watched him for Stoke against Swansea and he hit the woodwork at least a couple of times. Still got a great shot on him. And obviously still a fatty.
 
How old is Charlie Adam anyway? I'm sure he was supposed to be early 20s or so when we bought him, and looked at least a decade older.

He was. Like I said, ive hung my colours to a few shitty masts in my time, ive sung the praises of a few gems too.
Unfortunately we have been so shit for so long if you blanket hate on everyone youre right most of the time.

That's the last one I can recall getting wrong. Usually, I veer towards non-commital until I've seen them play, and then make a quick and accurate decision.

But you're right, it's way too easy to be negative about every player. Or indeed positive.

There's not really been that many signings we have made that everyone agrees will be great, or terrible. There are so many factors involved. I think the only one recently that I can recall getting a unanimous "this will be a huge fucking disaster" was Balotelli

I don't think "bring on Benteke" is the sort of thing I might say, although I didn't mind us buying him at all. Good striker, reliable goalscorer.

I have to question your accuracy.
 
Nah I remember bring on benteke in almost every match thread last season.
It was more monotonous than the take off Firmino shouts from this year.

Because he was shit.
We were a disjointed team when he was on the pitch.
There's a reason he was fucked off in the summer and not one big club wanted him.

We all do it though. Aquilani, Downing. Like Oncy said, I've nailed my colours to a few shitty masts as well.
Easy then to say you got it wrong though. And move on.

I thought Ziege was decent though, no? Not awful at all. Nothing amazing, but sometimes decent.
 
He was unlucky IMO. After being inconsistent at LB he was moved forward to LM and began to look the part. When we beat Roma on our way to the Europa League trophy in the Treble season he was superb, and must really have thought he'd found his position. GH promptly had a brainfart and dropped him, Ziege complained and of course you did not do that and survive under GH. All a bit of a shame really and nobody came out of it with much credit.
