I don't want any more defensive tactical geniuses who will try and out-think the likes of Steve Bruce or Alex McCleish.
I just want an attacking manager, who will come and try to instill some fluidity and pace in our side.
- Someone who won't be concerned with what the other team are doing.
- Who will get us playing football where we try outplay the opposition rather than out-work or out-manuevre them.
- A manager who won't see the great value in a player like Kuyt, but would rather go with a player of less industry but more efficiency like Arshavin.
- Who will understand that modern day footballers require athleticism (especially the Premiership) in the form of pace and strength, as opposed to stamina and tactics.
Who am I describing? I don't know. But I know it's not Rafa.

Frank Rijkaard.

He wouldn't be a bad call. It's funny because I really think we could do with an attacking manager like Rijkaard, even if he just comes in to buy decent players, before failing and letting a more tactically astute manager take over.
Case in point. Claudio Ranieri.
Say what you like about his shit trophy record. But he seems to always buy good attacking players, without having much a clue how to use them. Then the manager who takes over after him tend to sure it up defensively and bear the fruits of his labours.
We could use an attacking manager to come in and balance out the last DECADE of defensive negativity. Someone who may just add 2 or 3 players, but instill an attacking team pattern, a bit like how Wenger did when he first came to Arsenal (off the back of George Graham's period). Rijkaard isn't a bad call.

Except Rijkaard is the man that stopped the 5 year rot at Barcelona, won a European Cup, 2 League titles and always challenged often playing wonderful football.
Rijkaard with Ten Cate as assistant, and Kenny as DoF for me.

Yeah he did, although to be fair, he had Messi and Ronaldinho too. But yeah, he's someone we should be looking at. My only worry is that, being Dutch, he might naturally gravitate to Kuyt and keep him as an untouchable.
