What a mental thread.

Yer MA'S MENTAL

If Moyes goes, Everton could do a lot worse than getting Rafa in, since his family are settled in the area. The Bluenoses would not like it one bit though!

Torres is not the player he was when values at 70 million. 18 months of on off injuries and not trying his hardest has seen to that. the fucking cunt.

sunny, you have to understand that some people liked and still like rafa. if someone comes out with 'oh, he was paid off for doing fuck all' they MUST know this is going to wind up some people who wont sit idle by and let such comments pass with impunity.
He was paid off because he was sacked. He was sacked because he had been doing his job badly for a couple of years.

It wasn't money he earned or deserved. It was simply money he was contractually entitled to because he bumfucked Hicks and Gillett (and the club) in contract talks by using the vocal support he had from people like you.

So what I'm saying is, it's your fault Babel was sold. 😉
Would the 'couple of years' include the season we came runners up in the league losing two games all season?
Yes. We should have won the league that season.

Expectations created by his remarkable success with the club.

This "we should have won the league" thing is just the most ahistorical sentiment ever. If only he'd have been in charge, and brought us to that point, and yet not been him, but a slightly better version of him, we'd have, I don't know, done slightly better. What the fuck does it really mean?

i think he means that normally such a high points tally would have done the job

I'm not sure he did. Certainly when I say we should've won the league that year, it's got nothing to do with what that points tally normally would've won us and everything to do with the fact that we bottled it.

And ironically in trying to ridicule the idea, Fark has actually nailed the point... yes, yes we did want a slightly better version of Rafa. Many of the frustrations with Rafa during his time here came from the recognition that he was a very good manager, but one who had certain facets of his personality and management that might end up preventing him from being a great one.

No, that's not what he means.

He means exactly what Fark is saying, even if Fark didnt really sy it.

Keni has it nailed.

So close but so far.

He was a good coach, but a shite manager.

I dread to think what would have happened if he had been in charge when we sold Torres last month.

He was a good manager with major inbuilt flaws which ultimately derailed him.

he did not have sexual relations with that badge

I don't think we let him go too cheap at all.
I will tell you who we did let go too cheap and that was fucking Mascherano, and the writing was on the wall for that prior to Rafa going.

Yeah but that was before he lost his perspective on value and the fiat system

Torres is injured too much to command a fee similar to that of Ronaldo.

He also needs a team setting up around him to shine and that can be problematic. I think £50M was a more than fair market price.

Although if we were offered £70M I'm pissed we didn't accept it.

LIVERPOOL have dubbed former boss Rafa Benitez “a mischief maker†for suggesting the club sold Fernando Torres to Chelsea on the cheap.

The Merseysiders also insist there will be no Anfield return for Benitez
(above), who was sacked in the summer. Kenny Dalglish is on the verge of being offered the job permanently.

Benitez indicated on BBC TV’s Football Focus yesterday that Liverpool could have banked £70million, not the £50m they received. He said: “I think last year we were talking about £70m.

“People were talking about an offer from another club. It is big money (£50m) but it could have been even better.â€

But a highly-placed Liverpool source told Sunday Express Sport that Benitez is talking rubbish because they received just one official offer for their Spanish striker last summer. A £28m bid was lodged by Chelsea in talks between Stamford Bridge chairman Bruce Buck and the then Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton.

The source added: “Either Rafa’s memory is playing tricks or he is simply mischief making, because there has never been any talk of a club prepared to offer £70m or anything like that figure.â€

It’s believed Benitez has said Manchester United were trying to hijack Chelsea’s transfer window deal for Torres – something which has again been quashed by the Anfield insider.

It is understood that the club is fed up with Benitez, who still has a home on the Wirral, that “it would be a dream†to manage Liverpool again.

Liverpool insist he will have a long wait with owner John W Henry and Tom Werner delighted with Dalglish’s work.

Not at all. You command too much respect 😉

If anything Rafa was trying to portray himself as an insider, and also convey he'd love to comeback... but wouldn't see it as mischief making. Good interview though. Nice to hear him speak..been a while. "Torres is a nice boy"...

That's exactly what it is, and for the reasons you've described.
