Jeebus. I've hardly posted about Rafa on here at all. I didn't realise that making any comments that aren't caveated by the fact that I like guy (I do) led to you being gang-interfucked by a bunch of cum-guzzling bellends
Its only Rebel Krump, he's flirting with you - being an internet masochist, and now the Brendan is gone, he needs someone else to kick him round the forum to get him off...

I think a lot of people are missing the only point being made here by Krump. And that is the kind of wealth generated by Benitez over the last 12 months slews his view on the value of things. He made no reference to his management successes and failures and there's a huge amount of overreaction here.

Oh right. Shall I pretend I hate Rafa then? Would that be more fun for everyone?

Now do us a favour and fuck off.

Pack it in rebel

Tell him to pack in his personal insults and i wouldn't use such language.

frankly if people want to bad mouth rafa then don't be surprised when people move to defend him (rafa). if people don't want to talk about rafa then don't talk about rafa.

The kind of wealth which he claimed - twice - was in excess of 20 million, with no proof.

I see that's a valid, light hearted point. ha ha, good old Benitez with his truck load of 20 million living it up and not knowing the value of money

I really think people are getting overly excited over very little here
sunny, you have to understand that some people liked and still like rafa. if someone comes out with 'oh, he was paid off for doing fuck all' they MUST know this is going to wind up some people who wont sit idle by and let such comments pass with impunity.

I like Rafa. But he didn't do much in his last season here nor did he do much at Inter.

Has anyone seriously bad mouthed him though Neil?

the problem is that some see criticisms of Benitez in everything

Torres could have been sold for £70M but injuries, form and attitude played a huge part in us just wanting to get rid of him. We made a handsome profit. Every Tom, Dick and Harry will have an opinion but only Kenny's and FSG's count.

Of course he wants to coach the club again because he has an affinity for both the club and city. That's his prerogative.

Rafa worked under prohibitive conditions but what ultimately cost him the job is that he took his eye off the ball and focused on politics instead of winning.

I respect what he did for the club and going our seperate ways was in the interest of both parties.

This pretty much sums up Krumps point lads

He did great for us, I'm not arguing that, but to imagine he's 'earned' more 8 figures in the past 12 months is fucking deranged.

So no slander of Rafa more a lack of justification for Rafa earning such money (which is true of most people involved in football these days) and a statement to say it must be difficult to put true value of things when you earn such money.

We know Rafa loved the club and did what he thought was best for it but I don't see the 'attack' on his character people are making out

It could be as much as 40 but I don't know how much he's made doing the Delta's since he's been back here.

Do you think Rafa knows there's some internet lunatic (Rebel) who will gladly fight for his honour to the death?

HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW YOU EXIST REBEL!!!

Hal, pack it in, banging on back at Rebel isnt gonna help.

Rebel, I think Krump's comment was tongue in cheek, but FFS either way just drop it. Ta.

How was hiring Hodgson in the interest of Liverpool?

Kopking: that's a leap of faith! Stop smoking that shite...

I never once wanted Roy and always advocated the appointment of King Kenny from the word go.

When Rafa left, it was best for both parties. We had a poor season and he just couldn't turn things around.

Roy is average and a small club man. His failure at Liverpool proved it. How Gerrard and Carra were rumoured to want him is beyond comprehension. That's what happens when money men get involved in making football decisions.

My guess is they plumped for him in the same circumstances that the King recommended him, i.e.the best of what was left once the King's application had been ignored. I'd bet a sizeable sum that they'd have bitten the club's hands off if they'd been asked whether they'd welcome the appointment of the King in the first place.

He was paid off because he was sacked. He was sacked because he had been doing his job badly for a couple of years.

It wasn't money he earned or deserved. It was simply money he was contractually entitled to because he bumfucked Hicks and Gillett (and the club) in contract talks by using the vocal support he had from people like you.

So what I'm saying is, it's your fault Babel was sold. 😉

God you could smell this thread outside, smells like people are gang raping a corpse

Would the 'couple of years' include the season we came runners up in the league losing two games all season?

KRUMMPPPP NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I can't really bothered reading this thread.

1. The title is a misrepresentation of what Rafa said.
2. I like that he still respects our club.
3. He had success in his first 3-4 years and failure in his last 2-3 years. He deserved his sacking.
4. I'm over this. We have got Kenny now.

The positive side of all of this was that, even when Rafa was here and doing well, the press was all "Rafa might leave to Real Madrid any minute", and Rafa did nothing to distance himself from that school of thought. With Kenny, we will get none of that crap. If anybody had the courage to go up to Kenny and say that, he would kick the fucker in his balls...
