Manchester City stand to rake in £95 million from TV money this season if they win the Premier League title as the cash flowing into the game hits a new high.

The huge value of the new £5.5 billion Premier League broadcast deals to clubs will be highlighted by the fact that even the club who finishes bottom of the table on Sunday should earn £63m from TV money - more than the £60.8m Manchester United were paid after winning the league last season.

The new champions are expected to be paid £35 million more than United were and the bottom club - likely to be Cardiff or Fulham - should get around £24 million more than QPR earned after propping up the table last season.
The Premier League has confirmed its merit money payments of £1.2m for every place each club finishes up the table, rising to £24m for the champions. That represents a 60% rise on last season.

Facility fees of £750,000 will be paid to a club for every live TV appearance, with a minimum payment of £7.5m.
There has been no confirmation from the league of the equal shares that will be paid to clubs for domestic and overseas broadcasting deals, but they are expected to rise by 60 and 70% respectively - in line with the increases in those deals - to £23m and £32m per club.

The huge rise in income should help a number of clubs turn their financial fortunes around, especially if they have been able to minimise wage bill rises for players this season.

Its every 3 years they do the tv deal ain't it?

Surely there will come a point where it slows down money wise? 5.5 bill this time, 3.1 last time wasn't it?

I have no idea what facilities fees are but it's pleasing to see we are milking the most. As our facilities are not bigger or better than the usual top 4s

Despite finishing second in the table, Liverpool received the highest total payment with £97.5m, the largest amount of central revenue that any club has received in a Premier League season.

I think it's for appearances on TV, we were shown the most.

Brendan Rodgers has paid for his own wage by Milking that facility fees by doing all these TV interviews.

Is right.

How does the Premier League sell its TV rights?

The Premier League's live audio-visual UK broadcast rights are sold in three season packages in a heavily regulated auction process. For the purposes of that process the rights are sold in six packages of 23 matches with no single broadcaster allowed to purchase all six. The packages are labelled A-F and are distinguished by the time at which certain matches can be broadcast. For example Package A is for 23 matches per season to be broadcast on a Sunday at 16.00 and Package D is for 23 matches per season to be broadcast on a Saturday at 17.30.

The Premier League sells its television rights on a collective basis. This is in contrast to many other European Leagues, where each club sells its rights individually, leading to a much higher share of the total income going to the top few clubs.

In the Premier League, domestic broadcast revenue is divided on a 50:25:25 basis; 50% is divided equally between the clubs; 25% is awarded on a merit basis determined by a club’s final league position and the final 25% is distributed as a facilities fee for the number of matches shown on television involving the club.

The income from overseas rights is divided equally between the 20 Premier League clubs.

So we got 2.2m more in TV revenues for being featured on UK TV in 28 games versus 25 games for both Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal. 733K more per game.

So essentially we need to keep up with the sexy football and we'll keep getting the moolah regardless of where we finish (joke)
