Good post, nice to see someone else realising Gomez is rusty, & that he hasn't suddenly regressed.

Welcome to the forum, hope you stick around. Most of us are nobheads, but some other nobheads seem to find us endearing for some reason.

I’ve wanted Gomez back in permanently for a few games and still do. Really hoping he can get his form back as he’s a better defender when both are playing to their full potential

Should be a good game, but this is a Liverpool win.

I like what Rodgers has done at Leicester, but we are indisputably the better team and also playing at home. 3 points for us.

Gomez is rusty having played very little since his return thanks to Matip's excellent form. He needs to start and continue getting minutes. Hendo only played 60 on Wednesday so he might start as well. Would like to see Ox and Keita given a chance, but with the international break coming up Klopp may go to his usual 3 in the middle.
Pardon me but if CT refers to Connecticut then you'll be hearing from my trademark attorneys.

@Judge Jules

Welcome to the weirdest fan forum, where all the Argentines are two footed, Jesus pops in to say hello, and there is an ongoing battle for who can be the biggest muppet.

Not sure why you would want Matip out unless you want him to replace VVD

I think his lack of pace coupled with TAA instruction to push on so much leaves a big gap that he cannot protect and we are getting exploited because of it.

I think Gomez’s pace would solve this (as long as he gets back to the level he was at last season)

The most solid we’ve looked in the last 10 years was the first 15 games last season with VVD and Gomez.

I reckon we’ll give Leicester city a footballing lesson and show the divide between us and citeh with the rest of the fodder.

I don't agree. I think Matip & VVD have both been excellent so far this season. I like Gomez ,and take his injuries into consideration, but at the moment I would have Matip ahead of him.

Where has all this hysteria about Gomez come from. Did no one watch our first 15 games last season when we were rock fuckin' solid and some people were even saying at times that Joe was the more composed or impressive of the CBs. Give him a chance to get back into the swing of things FFS. We haven't helped him by throwing him on at RB in games when we're under the cosh either!

You are right on this, but to be perfectly honest - they all made mistakes, and he saved us a few times just with his pace. Who is to say that if Matip played we would have made us so damn defensively perfect - its just theory because Matip has been going forward a lot in many of our games, but at least when Gomez gets out of position up the pitch he will have blistering pace to get back. The defensive errors as so many have pointed out was a team thing - mainly leaving large portion of the space in middle of the pitch fucking empty.

I fucked up my holidays and with the missus in fuertaventura at the minute (booked a holiday this week thinking it was international week) so I’m missing the game tomorrow.

I’m a pretty good luck charm for us, I haven’t seen us get beat at home in about 4 years. It’s my fault if we get fucked, soz.

On the plus side, I’ve found a bar to watch the game in and it’s 2 euro a bevvy. I’m going out at 12.30 to watch Tottenham and staying out till 7ish for the late game. Totally on my own cos she doesn’t like footy and wants to stay by the pool. How fucking boss is that for a Saturday? Me birds sound by the way [emoji4]

I never said they weren’t excellent. Do you think they’ve been better then Gomez and VVD were last season?

Congrats on the new bird!

If Matip is fit there is 0% chance that Gomez will play, for the following reasons:

1. We are not managed by a crazy fan on the internet

2. We've won all our games this season with VVD and Matip, and Leicester will be our toughest opponent yet

3. See Salzburg game

4.

Matip is out like so Gomez in...

Think we win 3-2 or similar

Playing Gomez against this Leicester team is a mistake, he will be found half way up the pitch leaving Virgil alone and exposed. There are plenty of others games to give Gomez his time on the pitch, this isn’t one of them. Lovren is a better defender.

It's an interesting observation that footie experts on this forum has repeatedly argued that despite Matips excellent form Gomez is the better CB, only for the same experts to call on Lovren when Matip is injured.

Says the number 1 expert.

Gomez just needs to man up, if he doesn't, Lovren is next in line.

I did that with Bex on my first holiday with her, my mates all thought I was lucky as fuck cos their birds wouldn't have it.

I told them they were with the wrong women.

It’s crazy this game isn’t on tv
Yep, when I looked at the TV fixtures & realised I thought it was very weird, even before the season started you knew it'd be a good fixture cos no Rodgers side would be anything but entertaining & even more so with a naturally counter attacking side like Leicester, plus return of the ex manager, very weird indeed.

This game (Liverpool vs Leicester) has been on TV for the last two seasons from what I recall, and quite a few of them have been high scoring and entertaining. Even the away fixture for us has been televised (for at least 3 seasons in a row) - so the only thing I can think of is either control reasons or something else that you guys would know more about on the decision making process. The only other reason I can think of is that last season this fixture was a big let down in terms of entertainment - it was a 1-1 draw ? or 0-0 - cannot remember but the weather was terrible that night and seemed like both teams were trying to avoid injury.

Good call

Klopp clearly wasn’t happy with Gomez performance the other night. Even hendo dropped . Smart move really. The midfield are all battlers which you want against Leicester
