Hate to say it, but it looked like the right result.
It wasn't.

Are the people who say we will struggle to make top 4 this year, the same ones who said we had no chance of even getting a Europa League place in Feb 2021? Or maybe they are turn coat City fans who were themselves stating they would struggle to make top 4 earlier the same season, the one where DB declared the race a dead rubber?

Sceptic means traitor?

According to professional scout and LFC fan Jan Riha, possession is not really a mitigating factor for us here:

==========
We have been TOP2 with City across every season since Klopp/Guardiola in high intensity sprints even with 60-70% average possession, it doesn't have any influence. High intensity sprints / distance are more important than the total ground covered. It's also what made us US and made the difference. We are ridiculously down on these compared to any other Klopp season - that combined with the soft-tissue injuries suggest screwed pre-season.
Whats possession been like?
Nunez will need time to adapt, at least half a season. Our MF is desperately out of shape, where we are relying a 36 year old to get us through games. We will get shape back when Thiago returns, but how long he lasts is open to debate. May be a month? I expect our form to continue as is till Jan, by which time they've realised they need to get new personnel.
Anyone who thinks we will come close is deluded.

I'm not optimistic. I just hope we qualify for CL - not doing so will make it even harder to carry out the squad rebuilding.

Maybe Klopp has set his sights on a clean sweep of winning every trophy possible - he added the Community Shield this season - next season is the turn if the Europa League!!!! - so qualifying for it is a priority.

Just watched the match again.

Is anybody else really worried about how many chances we’re seemingly giving up from our own corners or when we lose the ball? There was a 5 on 2 break in the second half from our corner, for example where Everton broke from the edge of its own box and Damon nearly scored. And it’s not just Everton, either. Newcastle, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Man H were at their most threatening from us turning the ball over. We don’t spot danger early enough and doing anything about it. Van Dijk, Gomez and Becker were brilliant yesterday considering just how they were exposed.

midfield not offering cover and tracking back, leaving fabs alone?
That, yes, but there’s really a genuine lack of awareness of danger, of where opposition are during times when we are constructing attacking moves.
I like Milner but bringing him at right-back yesterday was clearly the wrong option — first second and Gordon had skinned him. By all means take Alexander Arnold off but what about putting Gomez there and Matip at centre-half. To be fair to Klopp he recognised that and eventually rectified it but he is missing a trick. We’d given already given up three chances, one of them Maupay should have scored,

yes - it's an issue.
As is the fact we play kinda slowly - which is not like us.
Again, something that has nothing to do with injuries ...
It's a team in transition ... it's not a very good team right now either ...

I think the goal in the league, starting with Wolves, should be a) how to get Mo more involved and b) how to solidify the defense.
