Interesting back-to-back fixture here but we are at home with a totally different line up expected.

Two PL matches before the Int break that we need to get through. City are running out of fit players, Arsenal stretched too. We need to be getting wins to keep the pressure on at the top.

For me in this one, the biggest selections are Robbo/Tsimi and Gakpo/Diaz. I'm going Tsimi and Gakpo as they are showing best form and fitness. I don't think Jones makes the XI either, Szobo needs to be back in that midfield for a home match.

Kelleher

Trent
Konate
Virgil
Tsimikas

Gravy
Macca
Szobo

Salah
Nunez
Gakpo

Will be good to have options like Bradley, Jones, Diaz on the bench.

Random one but will the team have stayed down in Brighton or travelled back to Liverpool just to go down again a few days later.

I think they will. They fly these days rather than train or coach. Plus they’d want to train and have their tactic sessions at Kirkby.

Brighton are absolutely fucking shite and they’re getting absolutely fucking smashed.

1-0 to the red men.

Tough call Diaz or Gakpo but with Diaz reverting to LW I think he'll get the nod. Otherwise that team.

Maybe even walk to the ground on match day eh 😉😂
The point still stands that we wouldn’t hang around an area of the country for quick games in succession in that area.

Also, I doubt any of the players live in L4. Even the youth lads. Nobody would walk to the ground. 😉

Tsimi deserves a start, at the very least to kick Robbo up the arse.

Gakpo deserves a start. Diaz has been iffy recently, and off the back of a brace it seems a little mean to drop him.

Szob kind of proved last weekend that the work rate in midfield is sorely missing without him, so Jones moves to the bench

What's happened to Gakpo? I know I mentioned it last season but he seems to be going through the motions and being really average and then boom.

The thing that is so weird he looks like he's jogging and he murders everyone for pace. Like an antelope leaving a lion for dust. Doesn't seem real when you're watching it.

Salah's legs move like you're watching a cartoon, and he's quick, but I'd say Gakpo is quicker than him and he looks like he's wandering around a library. How does it make sense?

Saw something recently where it was stated he's the fastest at the club - over what distance wasn't mentioned

Maybe he's finally found a way to reconcile being a slum landlord with being a good little Christian, too, and the weight has been lifted.

Klopp shunting him around didn't help him, either. I generally feel that repetition and clarity of message are so important for wide players because everything wingers have to do is so precise.

I think Cody is benefitting from a set position so he can work on his game as a LW. He loves to talk about how he's the best at 'low finishing' and you see that alot, he loves trying to score in the bottom corners.

It's great to have a position with two players pushing each other. Diaz's run of form seems to have prompted Cody to take his chances. Granted he wasted a few moments against Arsenal, but he's looking threatening.

Gakpo has the best pure strike of the ball in the squad. Power and accuracy.

He's also probably only 2nd to Trent for the quality of cross he can put into the box.

Everything works better when players are in the actual positions they should be playing.
