Every time I read the title of this thread....

Sterling was incredible - how you can compare the two is beyond me ... I get it that you are convinced LFC stands for Lucas FC, but what is the point?

I'm going to start a thread about how if Agger would have started, we would have won 2-0 as it was Sakho's pathetic 1st touch that resulted in West Ham's goal. I mean, we were utterly dominated against them with him and his shite passing.

Every week, I watched Sterling and think, "This kid is going to be unplayable." It doesn't even get boring. What a legend in the making.

Maybe there's some logic to our Space Invaders away kit after all:

We're having to play our way through packed defences these days. Clever mind tricks or prescience by the Warrior kit designers.

Bloody hell - heart attack stuff. Felt some life go out of me when they equalised. Was convinced it would be overturned. Then it wasn't and I just lay there.

Thought Johnson was tremendous today - got up and down that right side like a machine - never once looked like he was struggling and kept hassling them everywhere. Did everything well.

Skrtel! Any other game he'd have been pretty much man of the match for me. Was outstanding - think we'd have lost without him. His pace, aggression and decision making were superb. Clattered Carroll at just the right point - Andy was causing problems, dropping for no reason. Skrtel absolutely flattened him - like, if you're going to go down I'm going to make it worth your while. He was an absolute beast.

Sakho. Thought he was good though struggled with Carroll and doesn't look to have the pace I thought he did. Either that or he's carrying a knock or well short of match practice - I know that would be understandable but still, looked well slower.

Henderson. Almost as good an engine as Gerrard had in his younger days - absolutely non stop. He was great in the middle for work rate and effort but still not creative enough in my mind for us in Europe.

Gerrard. Captain Immense and MoM. Worked hard, got the foot in when needed, kept it reasonably simple but then was one of the few capable of playing the exquisite. The ball to Suarez for the first pen was a thing of beauty. The two pens - particularly the 2nd - ....immense.

Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling. All off their game. Sturridge looked slow and tunnel visioned, Sterling was still running hard but couldn't quite do the right things at the right times, Suarez was off as well. Two lovely chips but otherwise he wasn't in full flight. Most glaring example was holding the ball up on the right - Just had to square it for Sturridge to be one on one with the keeper but held the ball too long and then had his square ball blocked. Given what the three of them have done for us this season they're entitled to a break but we need all three firing big time for next week.

Lucas. Special mention cause he was great when he came on. Held possession well, got the foot in whenever needed and a great ball for Flanagan to win the 2nd pen.

Like the rest of you, I don't think I can handle much more of this. Loving the season, loving the football but some of the games now are torture.

I've watched alot of nerve wrecking games involving LFC ... plenty of CL games under Rafa come to mind.

But today I've never felt more nervous throughout a match.

It's next level shit now. Every game is 90 mins of pure anxiety.

Gerrard revealing Allardyce's dirty tricks.

God I love Gerrard. Intelligent, honest, modest and Liverpool FC runs through his veins. More than anything I want him to get that PL Title he so richly deserves.

@Wizardry said it all above. I haven't really felt nervous at all until this game. Once it started and I saw how West Ham had set up (beating packed defences is not really our game) and the size of the pitch (was it my imagination, an optical illusion from the TV cameras perhaps .... or is the Boleyn actually tiny) ? I had this sinking feeling and I could only hope the players, and our fans at the match (so it doesn't transmit - same for next week) didn't feel like I did. It's coming home to me .. just 5 matches to go, 3 at home and Palace and Norwich away. Every chance.

Ming : 7 coped well with the aerial bombardment and was fouled for their 'goal'.
Flanno : 5 - Diame shat all over him. I expected better from him based on the performances he has put in so far this season. Nerves ?
Johnson : 7.5
Skrtel : 8.5
Sakho : 8
Gerrard : 9
Henderson : 6 Poor game by his recent standards. he was shite in the 1st half but picked up in the 2nd. Too many wasted balls.
Coutinho : 7 I thought he was unlucky to be pulled but Rodgers was tactically spot on. Defensively was much improved.
Suarez : 7
Sturridge : 3 This is one of the worst performances I've seen from him, I honestly can't remember him doing much right at all. Three decent chances and three horrible connections skewing the ball high or wide or shooting lamely at the keeper.
Sterling : 8 Started off poorly but got going as the game wore on and in the last 30 mins he was immense, striding through their midfield (relieving pressure) time after time.

Lucas : 8 Did what needed to be done very well. Great pass for the 2nd penalty. But is not a starter, we lose so much creativity and 90% of his passes are still sideways or backwards (watch Modo's clip).

Rodgers : 10 Love that he can see what needs to be done and is never afraid to take that gamble and do it early.

The camera angle was awful, but you're actually right I think. Their site lists their stadium pitch dimensions as 110 yards x 70 yards. The length is about fairly consistent with the rest, but the stadium seems a bit narrower. Going through a few quick samples in Wiki - Anfield, Highbury, Goodison Park - I learned that those are about 73 to 74 yards wide. That's about 1.5 to 2 yards trimmed off each side.

An interesting coincidence maybe, but Stoke's Britannia Stadium is also 70 yards wide.

Hendo had 94% passing(second best after Sakho), and the second most touches on the team after Gerrard. Dispossessed twice, but two key passes and a couple of interceptions as well.

Quietly had a very efficient game by the looks of it, a few bad moments excepted.

Not Studge' s best game but was involved in some magical interplay that ended in a air shot from Suarez. 3 is hyperbolic.

Stats can be misleading, in the 2nd half we dominated and passed the ball for fun around the midfield as they defended with 2 banks of four. His attempts at creativity were simply awful in the 1st half as was his general play ... do we have a stat for how many times he gave the ball away ? I know I was screaming at the TV and he got hit by at least 20 cushions !

IMHO I don't think so. He contributed nothing (give him those 3 points for the Suarez set-up and the occasions he kept possession) and had awful attempts on goal. He didn't win the ball back, make good runs to break the offside trap or do much chasing down, all of which led to him being pulled. You get points for achieving something, not just being on the pitch. I love Studge but that was amongst the worst games I've seen from him. Can anyone name one worse ?

There's not been any teams that at home have gone so far out of their to disrupt our football.

I was impressed with how we coped. Sturridge was fairly anonymous but suarez made up for that.

If only either of his crossbar efforts had gone in...
