All these shouting and fawning over the result and no highlights! What a letdown.

I didnt manage to watch this and the Norwich one and we went to score 5 in both. Struggling to decide if I should watch us play Cardiff next week. 😗

The guys should celebrate for a day and then go back to work hard and try repeating that feat next week. We've always had a maddening tendency in the past to win a big game and then go to sleep the next week and drop silly points against the teams we should be beating. Hopefully, we've now passed the baton to Moyes. Before this stretch started, I would've been happy with 6 points from these 4 games - we're halfway there already after one. Brilliant.

I have to set my alarm for anything from 12am to 3am every Sunday night but its been worh it this year!

The match vs Cardiff is earlier and on Saturday too though Pat. 1245 UK time.

Yep I love our early games so it will be a 1145 Sat night game perfect.

I don't mind the 3pm games here as we get all the games live regardless of kick off times without having to look for a stream.

I really can't remember being this happy in terms of the league even back in 2009

I am very thankful that the pre-match rumors of the return to the 3-4-2-1 system turned out to be not true. Rodgers didn't chicken out, didn't overthink, didn't give the Spurs' midfield 3 too much respect. Allen, Hendo and Lucas more than held their own against Dembele, Sandro/Holtby and Paulinho.

Nobody has mentioned how lucky we were. Not surprising.

Suarez gave the ball away twice in the buildup to his first goal, he was very lucky to have the chance he took very well. Likewise with the second goal, Henderson was very lucky to get a second bite at the cherry.

Then the sending off was as soft as they come.

Yes, it was all down to luck. *shakes head*

Everyone bar you and AVB thinks it was a red card. He moves his foot to follow through and hit him in the chest. No question at all about the sending off.

I thought Paulinho's kick was rather hard and it was a Jackie Chanesque one. What was soft about it?

As for your other comments Rosco, I think you're not being serious there, right?
Of course there are elements of luck in football - Llloris was lucky to stop the first two attempts before finally conceding Henderson's 2nd attempt.

Luck was of course involved as it is in every game.

On another day Skrtel may have conceded a pen, Soldado might've been allowed to push Ming in the back and score or Paulinho might've escaped with a yellow. Pivotal moments in games often get decided by refs. You just hope that the decisions go your way (right or not).

It's also true that you might get a lucky bounce of the ball, that a defender will miscontrol a pass, the opposition miss an open goal letting you off the hook and so on and on.

So what?

I feel like I need to start idiot proofing comments.

I never said "it was all down to luck", I said we were lucky.

It was the one big thing that contributed to the result that nobody had mentioned.

It goes without saying as far as I'm concerned.

If football is a game that inherently requires good fortune to be successful at, it's hardly worth mentioning it after every game - particularly as it is a factor out of our control.

You can't become better at being lucky or worse. You have to focus on the elements you can control and that's what everyone is doing.

You can go through each game and say what if..
The thing is, everyone says the top teams have all the luck. But if you're often enough in those attacking situations some of them will have a positive outcome for you.

We had 10 shots from inside the box yesterday. Of course some of the rebounds will fall to a red shirt.
If Sakho scores 3-0 then it would have ment nothing if Paulinho was sent off.

What if. What if. What if.
