really harsh ratings re: flanno - we kept a clean sheet, he made several goal saving tackles, and shackled lennon - not to mention his outstanding assist for coutinho.

OK, let's not go overboard here. It's a simple pass, it's not like Coutinho was clear on goal or anything.
Just need to ask, if that pass was "outstanding" what do you call Coutinho's assists?

Talk about destiny ... Just got express delivery from a company I work with in teh US ... this year's Liverpool top ... it looks good ... pity it will be soaked in ale in af ew weeks time ... Oh well!

the only real pity was it wasn't 5, 6 or 7 - nil to really drive sherwood over the edge . The fuckwit has to sit in the stand to keep his emotions in check , that's just bizarre from a manager .

He did, several times. I can throw the agenda thing back at you.
I'm not slating agger though to praise another . Agger did well today, bar one hairy moment.

Flanni had very little to deal with on his side.

The one I remember is when chadli did a little jig and flanni missed the ball, meaning agger had to defend.

Flanni deserved more than you gave him, at the very least for the assist

I genuinely wanted 7 when we hit 4 so that we removed goal difference as an issue.

However, Rodgers move to shore things up was clearly the right one as they then hit on the ball more & could have got a goal or two back.

He knows this side so unbelievably well.

One game a week now. That will help for sure.

Amazing performance from everyone. The fans, the players and the manager.
After we scored the early goal I was confident throughout the game. Spurs looked beaten already and scared of us.
We just turned it on and showed no nerves or anxiety.

I'm starting to dream. Its fucking on. We could win this fucking league title.

He's dreaming to @Hansern - he knows it's on like donkey kong:

Flanni?

OK, I'm not saying that he had a bad game. I started off by saying that he did well.
I actually think the reason why he's getting so much praise is that you're underrating him.
I like the fact that the Anfield crowd are encouraging him but more often than not he's doing something we don't expect him to be able to do and that's why he's getting that praise.

When I did those ratings I asked myself, was he as good as Johnson? No, therefore if Johnson gets a 7 he gets a 6.5.

From Jolly (Soccernet.com):

[article]2. Rodgers gets it right; Sherwood struggles

During his first 18 months at Anfield, Rodgers was prone to matches when he got everything -- team selection, tactics and result -- wrong. Not any longer.

The Liverpool manager has displayed an ever-surer touch as the games have acquired more importance. He seems a manager confident in himself and his players, and their ability to adapt to his requirements has been pivotal in their progress.

Liverpool had won four successive matches with a midfield diamond, scoring 14 goals. Nevertheless, he abandoned a successful system, reverted to 4-3-3 and was rewarded for his willingness to change a winning team and shape within two minutes. In the process, he identified and exploited a flaw in Tim Sherwood’s tactics.

The problem of playing Christian Eriksen on the left is that the Dane offers his full-back less protection, and Danny Rose was outnumbered when Sterling and Johnson combined slickly and quickly for the first goal. The right-sided duo set up the early opener, even if the hapless Younes Kaboul applied the finishing touch.

Rodgers’ Liverpool have the intelligence and ruthlessness to capitalise on any flaws in the opposition ranks. Sherwood’s Spurs do not, and their inadequacies were compounded by ill fortune. When Jan Vertonghen limped off, the slower Michael Dawson came on and was doubly culpable -- with a poor header toward Kaboul and then a predictable inability to catch Suarez -- when the Liverpool striker pounced to drill in a second goal.

Yet the sense is that Tottenham made their own luck. Choosing to put their premier holding player, Sandro, on the bench may have seemed like an attacking move. The actual consequences were that, while Spurs had five other midfielders, the back four were not afforded enough protection and were consistently caught out by Liverpool’s pressing game.

Spurs’ last away game at a top-four opponent, the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea, came when Sherwood strangely selected right-back Kyle Walker in midfield. A rookie manager has found himself outwitted by men at the top of their trade. His predecessor, Andre Villas-Boas, was sacked the after a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. This made it more likely that Sherwood will be replaced too, with Louis van Gaal seemingly keen to succeed him.[/article]
