So we have a saggier, older version of Rafa with none of the pedigree making a mockery of the club. It isn't just him though, we're full of money grabbing cunts like Purslow and Broughton, Gillett and Hicks. What about the players though? We pay Glen Johnson, an established England international £90,000 p/w for a performance like that? Ditto Poulsen on whatever the fuck he's on. These players have to take a lot of blame, it can't just be down to tactics that we're shite. Look at a Torres/Gerrard wonder goal for example, that isn't tactics, it's just inspiration or whatever. The opposite applies to our defence: if one of them makes a massive fuck up cf/ their penalty, that isn't Hodgson's fault.

There's tons of people to blame, and sacking Roy won't solve all of it. It might make us feel better, but it isn't the be all end all.

I want to feel better.

Roy is no version of Rafa. Rafa had a vision and a plan for how he wanted and demanded things. Roy has no clue at all.

It's not all Roy's fault, but it is his responsibility. For sure the players aren't doing it, but it's Roy's job to get them doing it and he's failing.

It's two weeks until our next match, right..?

Well, if we're gonna do it and get Kenny in for the rest of the season, it's now or never.

Fair.

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson after the 2-1 defeat:"It's a very bad start to the season. It's a start we could not envisage. It's been a strange season so far but we are very unhappy we have only got six points from seven games."

the owners should be put to one side.

they don't make the tactics.
they don't implement the training.
they don't pick the match day team (okay, indirectly they do).
they don't pick the subs bench (okay, indirectly they do).

I'm not asking for brazil '70 I just want liverpool to play in a competent manner, pick the best team, go at team at home and show 'some' ambition away. if you HAVE to play people out of positon then go for players that will at least be more suited to the role the than other.
wasn't roy hired to do the OBVIOUS things that rafa wasn't?
roy has got to be of the the most clueless managers I've had the misfortune to witness.

I don't know why you keep banging on about the lineup, that side today was more or less our best team (allowing for the obvious issues at the back)

There are good managers out there who are able to make players punch above their weight. Sadly Roy seems to have had the opposite effect on this team. Yes, we weren't expecting world beaters from the likes of Ngog or Poulson anyway, but others like Johnson have largely been shocking thus far.

Whenever we were struggling last season Rafa's apologists used the perceived lack of funds from the owners as a reason for us not being able to compete. So fair is fair.

By the way I don't think they are any more a valid excuse now than they were then. But just felt it fair that it was pointed out.

Anyway Hodgson is making a complete bags of this job so far

As some small consolation, I thought Gerrard and Meireles worked well together in the second half and they seemed to enjoy playing alongside each other as they were constantly looking for one another with their passes. About the only plus point to take.

You know whats amazingly coincidental?

When we have a negative net spend, we are fucking SHITE!

Liverpool Net Spend 08 £6,250,000 09 -£8,650,000 10 -£7,800,000

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson admits his side's miserable start to the season is unacceptable after they slumped to an embarrassing 2-1 home defeat to Blackpool.

The Reds find themselves rooted in the bottom three after making their worst start to a season in over 50 years.

Charlie Adam's penalty and Luke Varney's strike on the stroke of half-time proved to be enough to give Premier League new boys Blackpool a famous win and pile the pressure on Hodgson.

"It is a very bad start to the season, a start we could never have envisaged," bemoaned Hodgson.

"It is a start we are really unhappy with and we have got to live with it that's the way it is.

Strange season

"It is a strange season the way it has gone so far.
"We are very, very unhappy that after four home games and three away we have six points and that is not acceptable.

"We have a lot of work to turn the situation around.

"I thought first half Blackpool played well, but we were not near anywhere where we should be," added Hodgson.

"Unfortunately we down to a second goal on the stroke of half-time, but in the second half you see a totally different team.

"All credit to Blackpool for holding onto their lead and for taking the lead 2-0."

I'm quite pleased with how's he's turning out, actually, if I could OT for a moment. Showed a lot of heart today in getting back and carrying out his defensive duties. But there's something *missing* still. Maybe it's belief that you can beat your man and put it at the back of the net.

I think you'll find 'Rafa's apologists' used that as a reason for not WINNING the league. He pretty much won everything else. Even in his worse season, he never had us in the relegation positions.

That's the bottom line - although a disproportionate level of abuse is being thrown Roy's way.

The players are equally incompetent, and have been for far longer.
