Sakho was bollocks, Johnson was bollocks, Lucas was fucking shite, Moses shouldn't be anywhere near this football club.

But we won and we're five points clear at the top. Chill out innit.

I thought Victor Moses was fantastic in his cameo this time. Had a few really good runs, won the ball in tight areas a couple times, basically did exactly what we've been expecting all season. I was really impressed.

He has fucked up a good few times. The real Ming Sting came over Christmas against the two death stars. But he has made a load of boss saves too.

We could defo have a better keeper. Wouldn't be surprised if he was gone in the summer, wouldn't be bothered if he starts in August either.

Henderson was sorely missed today. Allen started well, but faded badly in the 2nd half.

Lucas was fine in the first half, but his lack of mobility really showed as we completely lost control in the 2nd half.

Hopefully, Ramires gets retrospectively banned for next week, as he's Chelsea's Henderson (as in, their most mobile central midfielder). I think we can handle Matic and Luiz, as they're more holding midfielders. Next week, will essentially be about who gets that first goal. Chelsea are set up to sit and counter. Score first and early, and if Sturridge is about, we'll murder Cahill and Terry on the counter ourselves.

The good thing for us is, we're now focusing on them and they've got Atletico to worry about (and hopefully pick up a knock or two).

Skrtel was immense at the back, Mignolet makes you shit yourself everytime he comes for the ball..

P.s. Credit to Rodgers for changing the system to a 5-4-1 and effectively seeing the game out around 80minutes.

He's doing what Fergie did with the likes of O'Shea, Brown and Fletcher. Getting players like Flanno, Allen and Hendo playing above their usual levels and getting results for the team.

Ming is very good imho. Some excellent saves today and should have had a free kick before the first goal.
He'll be our starting keeper next season and will only get better.

No point in buying a new expencive Gk. There are other areas that need strenghtening.

Edit: definetly has areas were he can and should improve.

I think we're being harsh on some players. The likes of Sakho and Mig will hopefully improve with more coaching and personal determination and endeavour. I think these players deserve a chance for the coaching staff to help them work on their flaws. Skrtel's persistent over-commitment and over-enthusiastic slide tackling has been coached out of him, for example. Coutinho and Sterling have added steel to their skill, and Flanagan has improved by loads.

If the guys don't show improvement in another season, then maybe we can say they won't get better. But not after just one season.

no he shouldn't . he was barely touched (unlike when carroll hit into him) and anyway your keeper should be a beast who takes defenders , attackers and his own gran out when he comes for a cross .

I don't rate him too highly and wouldn't be against replacing him in the summer although i could live with it if he was our first choice next season but i would expect what we've seen this season . He's exactly like my sunderland supporting mates said he would be .

I like the way you say "Flanagan has improved by loads" as if it was the whole thing that needed improvement. 🙂

Nah, they went through it quite a lot in the studio and it was a free kick.
But that doesnt matter - he shouldnt have come for that ball if he's not 100% sure of getting it. We won the game so I couldnt care less either.

He'll be our starting gk next season.

If for nothing, I think we've to stick to Mignolet, Sakho and Allen just because of the amount of money we spent on them. Doesn't make sense to not invest enough time in your big-money signings unless they're hopelessly bad, which is clearly not the case.

And Henderson and Flanagan are proving how much players can improve.

That said, I would be happy if we signed someone like Ochoa in the summer as competition for Mignolet.

I thought Sakho was fine, a mistake or two, but great distribution otherwise, lets not pretend Agger has been an impenetrable rock. Lucas, Allen and Johnson all start well, especially Allen, but all faltered in the second half, especially Johnson, Sterling was just immense, Suarez a little quiet.

If someone else in a pub tells me he's a good fucking shot stopper, then they're going to end up in a heap on the floor. THAT'S a pre requisite for a keeper!

That's like saying "he's a good barman, he served me a pint". That's what he's supposed to do!

He should just say he's a good keeper. Cause thats what he is and some of the stick he's getting is OTT.
He can improve like many of our other players but he's done more than enough this season to be called a good signing and an improvement on Reina.
