Post-match Norwich

He made two or three glaring errors. He is slow and clumsy. Agger for me is a much better centre back. At this moment in time anyway.

Skrtel is one of the best in the world right now. 8 or 9 out of 10 every single week.

We went away, and won, again. That makes it 11 wins on the spin.

Despite nervy moments and a hugely respectable effort from Norwich, we were ahead for 87 minutes of that game.

Top of the league with a 5 point lead. 3rd place guaranteed. 7 points needed with 3 games to go, and two of them are at Anfield.
What's not to like about this post? 🙂

I thought we were going to go on and win that match about 6-0. Was shocking how much we slacked off.

Was waiting for us to go again but it never came, which worried me. Our best form of defence is clearly attack so we need to keep that up til we get a 3rd. This sterile domination passing round the back just gives the oppo more encouragement than anything else.

Agger is more football wise but his knack of switching off especially at set pieces is infuriating.
If Torres plays I'd have Agger starting.

Dont agree at all re Agger and thankfully it looks like Rodgers prefer Sakho aswell.

Having been out for 3-4 months it will take a bit of time before he's up to speed again.

City had better players. We beat them at home. Chelsea has better players. That means nothing. Kamon you reds. Let's do it again. 3 more points. One game at a time.

We seem to be unrelenting against the better teams, pushing to score 3 or more early. That kind of pace and intensity in attack can't be sustained and I suspect we intentionally ease off at 2 up against lesser teams with the intention of controlling the game with patient passing and well timed attacks.

The last few weeks have shown that it doesn't always work in practice, but I am pretty certain it has been intentional.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "The most important thing was to get three points and also the performance level. We are on 96 goals now and our idea is to get 100 plus - that would be an incredible effort.

"The objective at the start of the season was to qualify for the Champions League - that was always going to be an incredible task but now we know we cannot finish lower than third.

"We will go into the next three games looking to perform well. We want to continue to fight and now look to Chelsea next week - where it will be an incredible atmosphere at Anfield."

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez: "We are happy because the three points were important, we worked very hard and they (Norwich) were fighting to not go down.

On reaching 30 goals: "It's important for myself but the team is top and that is the priority.

"In football you never know what happens, we'll keep calm and focus on the next game which is Chelsea."

I think in Sakho's defence, he slipped at the worst possible time, and ended up taking out Snodgrass. He can't really do a lot about that.

Apart from that, he should have had his eyes on Hooper when Mignolet fucked up.
He almost let Wolfswinkel score an equaliser and he messed up badly while trying control the ball in the first half.

I don't want to put Sakho on the spot, but I thought he was horrible today.

Also, I really don't know what the deal with Johnson is. Sometimes he looks world class. Other times he looks like that nervous 20 year old at Chelsea. He really need to be more consistent.

Flanagan had a terrible 2nd half, Lucas too, I don't think he's fit.
Coutinho did well in the first half but didn't get enough space in the 2nd.

Skrtel was great as usual, Gerrard did well defensively, Allen worked his socks off.

Suarez and especially Sterling won us the game today.

Modo you are more interested in petty point scoring than anything else, having a look at the match thread at half time its almost like you you want Sakho to screw up so you can justify your patheticness.

Not sure whats more pathetic, you or Red Mullet and his obsession with everyones writing, have a word with yourself.

I only mentioned Sakho once and if you look around, I'm not the only one.
So I'm not allowed to say anything about Sakho?

BR: “it was a brilliant win for us. tactically it was a really good game, both diamonds to start. We’ve analysed Adams’ youth teams etc."

“first 15-20 we got 2 goals and showed great quality in 1st half. credit to norwich to change shape to 4-2-3-1 2nd half and was tough."

“quality, movement in play excellent first half. determination in second we had in bundles. congratulations to players as we can finish no lower than 3rd. people thought no higher than 4th, but thats CL guaranteed next season."

“for us it’s concentration on the performance levels. It’s 96 goals we’ve scored this season, was 47 when i arrived. shows mentality."

“we want 100+ goals in the season."

“we’ve got first objective, CL football, now we look to next week’s game.

“I enjoy it. it’s brilliant. worked long time as young coach, 15 years by time I became manager. What I learn is not to be too disappointed when we lose, not too carried away when we win. It’s a process, you can’t win every game, dealing with expectancy part of LFC"

“my players give me everything. 11 in a row now, phenomenal.

Chelsea result didn’t bear on our start. Nobody has helped us win 11 or score 96. We focus on ourselves. Great result for Sunderland and great record for Jose to go that long unbeaten. He’ll go again now. But for us, we focus on ourselves."

“if we don’t do our own job then Chelsea loss counts for nothing. it helps but you have to help yourself."

“it’s great for the supporters as they’re proud of their team. it’s an iconic club, we’re trying to attack, be balanced, we want to win"

“words of Margaret Aspinall were stuck on the wall today before the game. That helped players too."

“I say at the players, be your best. Just focus on ball, focus on team. Do it together, we’ll be a force. Invention, creativity, youth"

“supporters and team will be up for Chelsea next week. we’ll look forward to it."

“Suarez is first since Rush to hit 30. He’s influential, a talisman, but team is about more than 1 player. Great achievement."

No he's not - then he'd have mentioned Lucas to say, "See guys, I'm fair!" 😉

Sakho was bollocks, Johnson was bollocks, Lucas was fucking shite, Moses shouldn't be anywhere near this football club.

But we won and we're five points clear at the top. Chill out innit.

to be honest it's all a bit mad isn't it ? . We have a fair few players who are more than capable of some stinking performances yet we've some how managed 11 wins in a row and 12 wins 2 draws since christmas when we last lost .That's an amazing run. So there's obviously a hell of a lot right with the team but even some room for improvement in certain areas .
