I mentioned yesterday (or the day before, I can't remember) that Allison will make a few mistakes due to the way he plays.
VVD will do the same, for the same reason, both are comfortable on the ball, with inviting pressure & playing the hard pass (be it a short pass or longer ball) under that pressure. It's fairly inevitable that he will sometimes fuck up.
Keita, similarly, is unafraid to take the difficult pass under pressure no matter where he is on the pitch (as his one mistake showed us on Monday night) & a large part of his game to invite players on to him & draw them in, so it's inevitable that again, there will be occasions when it fucks up & puts under pressure.
Whilst I'll be pissed off when one of these happens & it costs us a goal, looking at it as dispassionately as I can do now, it's a large part of the reason why we are able to play the way we are doing.
So many of our players are willing to be brave under pressure & risk mistakes in doing it.
I don't really have a question or debate to start with this as such, I just think it's worth spelling out before these almost inevitable mistakes happen, & to try to remember how many good moves start through us playing without fear before we slag players off for it.
