Pepe Reina speculation

My battlements are much better than last time we met good sir knight

Why do them footballers talk so much? Why do they have to give so many interviews?
I wish they'd be concentrating in training and playing football. They get paid well enough for doing this.

he's promoting his new book.

talking about footballers and interviews, the next time an english player is being interviewed listen to how many times they say 'obviously'.

I think our faith has, not unreasonably been shattered , recently in what these players say and what they then do....... We all thought Torres got it and then turned into the biggest traitor of our generation .
I do have more faith and trust in Pepe , and would like to hear his comments on the idea , although clearly as we have seen things can happen .
Sunny seems to be sitting on something which gives me a bit more confidence.
I think the blow to our pride would be devastating .
Regards

Pepe did this a few months ago as well as a time when we were regaining momentum. Finally we turn a corner, and now we'll have more headlines like "Pepe off to...". It's naive and self centered. It's stupid. And I think less of him for it. Give us a fucking break Pepe from the silly headlines. Are you really so awful as to suggest you'd like the Man Utd number 1 shirt?

On another note, since when do Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, or United let their top players to go a rival? Never. I can't see why we don't have a similar policy!

Arsenal let Cole go Chelsea, Gallas went the other way.

Probably not similar but Mikel from Manu to Chelsea.

It doesnt happen often but we dont often sell players for £50m

Bloody hell, Fernando doesn't seem to have a clue about being a fan.

He describes himself as a football fan but then paints himself on the opposite side of the paradox; one where it is all about money and a temporary effort. "Six hard months of rowing against the current". Is he kidding? Did he think Chelsea was realistically going to provide the payoff in the next six months cause I don't and next year they're in no better a position than we are.

Reina needs to pull his head in too. I don't think he's actually angling for a move but we're not here for his amusement; if he's not up for the fight then here's the door.
Reina hasn't let his disillusion show on the pitch though, if he even feels it. He's continued being a consistently brilliant goalkeeper, so it's not the same situation as Torres.

Those comments do look slightly ominous to me, however, in spite of Sunny's reassurances.

I don't believe this for one second. Pepe is no Torres.

Anyways if another of our most important players decides to jump ship at this pivotal stage in our history where things are actually looking up then be it.

£20M + Anders Lindegaard would suffice. We'd probably need to spunk another £5M on a goalie in case Lindegaard isn't going to be shit hot - which I expect - but we'd still be able to bolster our squad like we did with the Torres-money and come out stronger.

Fear not.

I don't get the Pepe is no Torres thing, Pepe wouldnt do it to us, Pepe loves us.
Most of us said the same thing about Torres 3 weeks ago.

KHL in pro-Danish player SHOCKA !

Only the freakin good ones Sunny-mate, fear not.

But. But. If he's any good why would they want Reina. Anyway, this is all pointless speculation

Because they like to hurt us. Or something. They probably wouldn't send Lindegaard the other way either.

Anyways I'm with you. It's all pointless and hopefully completely made up speculation.

And for the record Lindegaard is not Reina class yet.

But he could be. Soon.

"Only the good ones".

What's your reason for the Bendtner advocacy ?
That he's good?

Right.

Good 'n, terrible.

Do you honestly, hand on heart, believe he should play for us and that he'd be amazing ?

Hahaha. That's thus what worries me about Lindergaard

I do mate. There's always a risk that anyone could turn out a downright failure of course - even Torres at Chelsea - but he's got the ability to be a very effective and powerful Premiership-striker for years to come.

42 goals in 142 appearances (in 67 of those he came on as a sub) for Arsenal - often played out of position on the wing as well - and he's only just turned 23-years-old got to count for something. Add to that a lot of assists too and you've got quite a promising player on your hands I would've thought.

It's obvious though with Carroll coming in the need for a big, strong forward is less imminent so I'd be looking elsewhere come Summer.

And I'll admit that I've probably got a few blind-spots for Bendtner too but he's far, far better than his reputation on here.

Does not the fact that there's only you who rates him sometimes make you question whether your faith is well founded ?

thats not true sunny, as keni showed us. Bendtner rates himself more than khl ever will

Apperantly he scored higher than anyone had ever done before in a self confidence test that the Arsenal players took last week, even the psychologists were surprised.

So everyone is catching on to this story, as we knew they would. STFU Reina would ye.

Of course it does.

I do remember seeing a few others on here rate him as well mind. Ryan for one if I'm not mistaken? Mark perhaps a bit as well?

Anyhow I've seen him play so many times that I'm fully aware of his qualities. In other words my hand would not tremble if I were in charge of our transfers and we were spending say £10M-£12M on him.

I know he's hated in England because of his outspoken desire and belief in himself but it's not always a bad thing. It even seems Wenger and his teammates likes him too. He's a good lad. Albeit a bit too loud at times.
