The difficulty is that, because they are used here and there, it's become harder sometimes to tell if someone's joking or not. Another poster and I have just been sorting such an issue out via PMs when there was absolutely no offence either meant or taken on either side.

Having said that, we do have a "just kidding" smiley, namely 😉.

No they are used very sparingly and the sites all the better for it
 
I have to say I don't hate smileys. In my experience they can be useful in filling in some of the gaps which inevitably arise when people are communicating as remotely as this.
 
Smileys are shit. The uncertainty over what a poster meant is the best part

it will be very sad to lose to pepe to the manc but we'll have to just get on with it. maybe the way forwards will be a team full of 'excellent' players all pulling together rather than a team of 'good' players propped up by couple of world class players.

one thing for certain is if pepe is allowed to leave if anyone other than kenny HIMSELF professes his love for the club I will just roll my eyes.

Lads, any player may leave by choice, that's entirely up to them. I took this view a while ago with the Xabi saga. I was gutted because on his day he was world class. Let's face it, players come and go but the club remains.

I feel that we can trust FSG but more importantly, I trust King Kenny because he is LIVERPOOL and will do right by the club.

So my new attitude is, "Out with the old, in with the new!"

Every player has a right to move on. Especially players of the caliber of Pepe who is desperate to win trophies and has given us 6 years.
However, being a Liverpool player for 6 years, captaining the team at the absence of Gerrard and Carragher, and having become a firm favourite of the fans, Pepe should know that there are teams you just don't move to. MU is top of that list.
I really hope he stays. But if he decides to go, he should at least not go to any of the "forbidden" clubs.
 
I always thought a rebuilding job would be difficult at the same time as keeping the stars happy. Let them go, take as much money as you can and strengthen other areas of the pitch. As long as we get a competent keeper we'll be okay
