This is why he gave "diplomatic" answers to the questions.

because Torres was in the room?
because the spanish public were listening?
because he was on spain duty?

I don't get why people are making excuses for Pepe!

He said: "Yes, well Van der Sar will hang up his gloves in the summer so of course they are looking.
"I can't do anything. I can't say anything logically as I have a contract with Liverpool.

Come on, like he's gonna say:

- Players who leave Liverpool in times like this are cunts and I'm looking at you Nando.
- Puta!
- Sure, playing for a team that currently is stronger might be attractive but I play for Liverpool and I can't leave when I'm needed, like the cunt sitting next to me.

I'd be very surprised if Reina left. No matter how awkward his comments in that interview looks.

And they do look awkward and misplaced.

He didn't say 'Fuck Man United' either. In fact he practically admitted he's greasing up his shitbox for them right now.

There's nothing yet to make excuses for.

he's leaving - make peace with it.

:'(

If he went to Arsenal or Chelsea or anyone in the world I wouldn't give a fuck. He's good but not irreplaceable. He wants CL footy and he's used to it and he deserves it more than just about anyone else at the club.

But if he goes to Manure I go Fight Club. I spend every day and night plotting his violent death.

Agger speaks. Again. This time to Danish medias and he's a bit more direct.

- Call it respect for the club. I could never move to Manchester United or Everton, Agger told Ekstra Bladet.

- If I one day should move on then it would be to a club outside England. I've been here in five years and has got three years left on my contract. If I move on I want to try something different.

Agger comments on Torres:

- I'm proud to wear the shirt but I understand Torres as well as the club in this case. If a player doesn't want to be here then all you can say is 'good luck'.

if there 'is' a release clause in his contract if manu match the price there is fuck all we can do about it.
We can work on the man to persuade him not to exercise it, or at the VERY least not to move down the E.Lancs.Rd.

say the release clause was 35m and manu matched it but arsenal came in with 20m, would you be happy for pepe to go to arsenal then?
frankly when a player wants out we have to get the best price for him regardless of where his destination is. fuck pride more money means better players.

i think we should just stop buying players if they're all going to leave us

I'd rather shoot him in his balls and get nothing

That's true as far as it goes, but I'd sell him to the Arse for £30-32 mill.rather than take the Mancs' £35 mill.

if the difference is a few million (2-5 for example) then sure, if the difference is (7-12 for exmaple) I'd rather he went to the mancs. 7 plus mil can buy another player. to be honest selling pepe to arse than the manc could hurt us more in the long run as arse are in a prime position for dominace when the fifa rules kick in where as manu could be crippled by their debt and not in a position to challenge long term.

I see where you're coming from, neil, but I wonder if it'll turn out that way in practice. For one thing I'm not convinced about the Arse's buying policy, which has left them with an unbalanced (albeit highly talented) squad and may well not change as long as Wenger's in charge, and for another I suspect the Mancs will find a way of remaining successful, though I'd dearly love to be proved wrong about that.

I'll believe he's going when I see the transfer request.

I've not gone completely cynical yet; and I hope there are still players who would die for the shirt.

If he goes, he goes; but that will be the end of me believing in Liverpool players.

Ironic because the phrase 'die for the shirt' was uttered by Reina himself.

to be fair he gives 100% while wearing the shirt.
he should have said 'die for the shirt...as long as we're challenging'

I don't know why anyone cares about the money. I'd go on about how pointless fans caring about the odd few million is but I'd sound patronising. Short and sweet - fuck the dosh, it isn't an issue. Try to define what it means to be a Liverpool supporter in a few bullet points. If one of them isn't to hope for the ultimate and final destruction of Manchester United then there is something fundamentally incompatible between me and you.

I hated manu before I even knew liverpool fans traditionally hated manu (hey, that's handy. long story) so if anyone understands the hatred it's me but I love liverpool more than I hate manu and if more money means better players then I want the best price for pepe.
