keepers like pepe are so rare. literally do nothing all game but is called on to make a save to secure 3 points and makes it or is so good keeps us in a game and we snatch a point. of a list of who I'd least rather see leave pepe would probably be top, just edging out gerrard.

The same 'newspaper' has Fabregas to Chelsea for 50m.

If it somehow transpires that we are going to lose Reina, we should shrink ourselves down to microscopic size, and make an expedition into the core of his bald head and activate his self destruct mechanism.

I don't think there is any such mechanism in his head. Also I've never heard you can shrink people to microscopic size so I think you are talking rubbish.

There are two young, gifted keepers that could soften the blow -

Lyon's Lloris (french #1) or CSKA's Akeeniev (sp! but Russia's #1).

Both are really good keepers, who match Reina's shot stopping ability BUT not as good in distribution.

I haven't seen him play much myself but I've heard Akinfeev has not been able to live up to expectations recently and interest in him has pretty much died down.

*If* it is true he has a 20m escape clause (and it *does* seem that Purslow was handing them out willy-nilly in the summer) then there is precisely nothing we can do to prevent him signing for Utd if we were to receive a 20m bid. If there is no such clause, we clearly would never sell him to them.

Like Owen and now Torres, they'll regret leaving but won't ever publicly admit it. Did you see nandough's face when we scored? With the exception of Arbeloa and Alonso, most players who left the club have gone downhill.

I'm not privy to player contracts but I'd be surprised if we signed up to a clause that meant we had to sell a player to whomever during his contract.

That's what an 'escape' clause is Jexy. Someone triggers it, and we have to give the player the option to talk to them, whether it be Paedophilia Athletic or Neonazi's Utd.

I feel the same as I did about Torres, if he doesn't want to play here, he can jog on. Sick of this crap, if people don't know what it means to play for LFC I don't want them here, full stop. Doesn't matter how good they are, or think they are. None of them are bigger than our great club. Furthermore I'd be disgusted if we 'persuaded' any player to stay. If you need persuading, you're not the kind of player we need.
