Is a brilliant little playmaker at Villarreal who we should be targeting.
With Milner’s contract running out, and Lallana being dead, I’m convinced our next major signing has to be someone who adds some guile and playmaking to our otherwise workhorse-like midfield.
Our version of De Bruyne/Silva/Eriksen or Modric/Kroos/Jorginho if you please.
Fornals should be our top candidate I think. 22 years old – just made his 100th appearance in La Liga, and marked it with this absolute corker:
He plays mostly as a right-sided CM, and would fit in very well in our midfield three. Doesn't score very many goals, but has wonderful ability on the ball, and the kind of creative passing ability that our midfield lacks. Watch his 12 assists from last season:
