Capitulation happens in 84 mins. If you had that, you won!

Brendan fucking turned this game.

Perfect game from Everton's point of view. They 'gave it a go', and can claim in the pub that they could have got something from the game, but ultimately, they've helped Liverpool's title rivals so job's a good'un.
Nah, they're 15th, on 7 points, after 7 games.

They NEEDED the win.

Said this to my mates. Valiant defeat, everyone goes home happy.

They need to win against Bournemouth, Southampton and Burnley and all the other mid-table cloggers. They don't expect to win against City. If the league comes down to needing to win against City, you're generally fucked.

You need to win any game you can, I didn't mean this particular one, but in this form you need the next game, or the next game, cos eventually you run out of games!

And yet they are 5 points BEHIND us
Yes and the most difficult game they've had so far is Spurs at home. Still, our squad will get tested this season and while we're fighting to win the league they're cruising towards it.

They're not cruising. They could have lost points today. They were deservedly beaten by Norwich. We're fighting for every win, but we're winning. They've won some games easier than us, much easier, but they've also had a few struggles, and they've dropped 5 points.

What I mean by us fighting and they cruising is that they're currently without their two first choice CBs and still winning. Imagine if we lost VD for 6-8 months and Matip for a month. They won the treble last year. Closed a 7 point gap to us despite everyone being convinced that they'd drop points. My point is, we're in two different cars one has no spare tiers the other one has like 5 and we both have a long drive ahead of us. Hence why one driver should be a bit more worried than the other one.

Watched most of Atletico - Real Madrid (except a part of the 2nd half where I literally fell asleep). Really impressed with Atletico's DM Thomas Partey (a Ghana international, 26 years old) – he stood out as the best player on the pitch, absolutely superb passing in addition to towering presence and physicality. Maybe he's a late bloomer like Kante.

To stretch a ropy analogy even further– they've got some fucking well dodgy tyres at the back that have them sliding all over the place defensively, not cruising serenely to their destination. We have more spares in that department than they do, it turns out. So yes, they have more attacking options than us, but the good thing is that they can only play so many in one game, and a few of them seem quite injury prone. They already have lost Sane for the whole season. That is a blow to them and leaves them just a little bit thinner than they want to be. Would I like their attacking options from the bench, sure, but this isn't a competition between a formula 1 team and the Whacky racers the way some are implying.

Whacky racers haha, good one! Yeah I forgot about Sane, which makes their performances even more impressive.
Their defence might not be helping them win games right now but their attack to win approach is getting it done so far and there's plenty of attackers to go around.
