Whacky racers haha, good one! Yeah I forgot about Sane, which makes their performances even more impressive.
Their defence might not be helping them win games right now but their attack to win approach is getting it done so far and there's plenty of attackers to go around.
You say it is getting it done, but they've drawn one, lost one, so whilst they're not doing badly by any normal measurement, they do look less like the invulnerable machine of last season. They'll drop more points than they did last season, I believe, because without Laporte and with Kompany providing depth and experience, they're definitely a lesser team.

That's what I'm hoping too. However, these are their upcoming fixtures:

Dinamo Zagreb (H)
Wolves (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Atalanta (H)
Aston Villa(H)
Southampton (H)
Southampton (H)
Atalanta (A)
Liverpool (A) Edit.

Well they must have a tranche of difficult fixtures at some stage, because they've played nobody from the top 6 other than Spurs at home.

So then in the next bunch of fixtures they're away at us, home to Chelsea, away to Burnley, home to United, away to Arsenal. That'll test them nicely.

Nick Pope maybe?
Yup. Pope has been excellent for Burnley. He's a very good keeper, and miles less error prone than Pickford. Pickford is probably better with his feet, but Pope is better in almost every other facet of keeping.

What an ugly tackle by Hayden. I don't know what he's arguing about, definitely a red.

Let's not gloat too early. They were 7 behind us at Christmas and still won the league. I think they'll still win it this year.
A lot depends on our two games against them. If we can get 4 or an amazing 6 points it's going to be difficult for them to pull back 8 or 10 points.

Yeah, I'd agree. A lot depends on our players' fitness too. They're having a tough time with injuries at the minute. If we go through a similar sticky patch, it would hit us a lot harder than it'd hit them.

Robbie Savage saying the game is finished if you’re not allowed to challenge like Hayden did.

Course he did. That's exactly his sort of tackle, a cowardly one that gives you an excuse to follow through. Not sure it's one of the worst tackles I've ever seen though.

I was expecting to see something really dirty and nasty.

It was reckless but he seemed to go for the ball (based on the clip Modo posted).

Simon Jordan is having to handle overly emotional unintelligible Geordies on the talk sport phone in

The right back, Naysmith I think it was. Iconic picture 🙂
Yep. I love that tackle.

Watched it with a few mates (all reds) in a blues pub where my mates blue dad was. It was fucking ferocious the atmosphere in there, made it all the better.

I know we get much tastier bites at the Spastic Aquarium that is Blue Fume, but I do keep an eye out on a Monday for the doomed, wizened old flids over at Grand Old Team, especially after another Bitters capitulation.

(Seven points after seven games, just fyi)

Current hot topics: Jordan Pickford (yet again), who veers from "great" to "a big-headed midget with tiny arms" with alarming regularity. Current consensus is that Everton should cash in, as he has no presence and thinks he's better than he is. Lots of speculation that he may have ADHD and is a jittery grinning Mackem gobshite and should probably fuck off.

Siggurdsson is currently (as ever) an overrated fraud who cost them £20m too much, and the value of recent signing Iwobi is also under severe scrutiny, as he apparently can't play more than 50 minutes and they got robbed.

Poor old Calvert-Lewin is their top scorer, but still belongs in the Championship - which, coincidentally, is also where Everton will end up if they don't sack Silva/ Brands/ everyone.

And Silva.....oh dear Marco Silva. The current mood has actually veered off the usual path of vindictive spiteful hatred, almost into a weird kind of resignation that maybe he's as good as Everton deserve? ie not really?

But actually no, FUCK Silva and his Just For Men fucking hair, the cunt! What Everton really need right now is......

.......Brendan Rodgers!

Big Character, great personality, top coach.

Weirdly, I also watched that in a Bitter pub in town. The quite well known one, whose name escapes me (not near Goodison, more like Town town)
