I don't get how Ancellotti is somehow not perceived as an absolutely top manager.
He is definitely occupying the same space as Guardiola and Klopp.

He's the grandmaster of them all.

Still cant believe there's many who think otherwise, just because of his goofy and calm demeanour.

Anyone who knows a bit or two about the game will appreciate that he's a master tactician and makes it seem so simple.

it takes a miracle worker to improve Everton but a genius to walk away when you know you're on a sinking ship.

I have a lot of respect for Carlo.

I know you can't look at a players history to judge them....but when a player's not good enough for stoke, can you expect them to lead the line to get to a CL semi?

Posted this last week:

It’s gone downhill this year. After Choupo-Moting (17), the other top goal scorers are Musiala (15), Sane (13) and Gnabry (11). However, since returning from World Cup,

Musiala has 3 goals (1 in cup) in his last 17 appearances for Bayern

Gnabry has 2 (inc 1 pen) in 16

Sane has 3 (1 in cup) in 17

Tuchel will need to find a solution to that.

With the exception of his 1st game in charge vs. Dortmund, they haven't got goals from attacking players. Scorer of their 4 goals in the last 5 matches (1W 2D 2L): Upamecano, de Ligt, Pavard, Kimmich (pen).

And his record at Chelsea wasn't very positive in this (goal scoring) aspect:

[article]Unfortunately for Tuchel, Chelsea's forwards rarely reached those heights during his time in charge.

During the head coach's 100 matches as Blues boss, he saw his side score more than twice in a match on 20 occasions. During the same period, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool achieved the feat 32 times, while Pep Guardiola's Man City did it 58 times.

Chelsea's troubles in the opposition penalty area have been laid bare this season, with just eight goals being scored in seven matches. Meanwhile, Erling Haaland has scored 12 goals so far this season for Man City, while Liverpool scored nine in one match.[/article]

Deserves credit for the use of Camavinga at LB and Valverde's development too.

Play offs spot secured for both Luton and Middlesbrough. Edwards getting sacked by Watford earlier in the season after 11 games in charge was a blessing in disguise. Jones probably regretted leaving for Southampton.

Uponhisarso fell over, haaland scores

All small potatoes compared to the genius decision to move Pirlo further back into the regista position. Without Carlo, he could have languished as a mediocre AM/#10 for most of his career.

interesting, i had completely forgotten about that.

I'm also very convinced that Trent can play the regista position like Pirlo did. Maybe even better cos he's still young and has a bit of Stevie's dynamism too.

Xabi’s Bayer well on course for the Europa League semi-final - would be a great achievement considering where the team were when he took over. Feyenoord and Juve so far on course to join them. Strangely, there are no other games today, nothing at all to see, which is totally fine with me.

To be fair, De Gea was probably the bigger culprit on the first goal, never mind the 3rd.
Looks like he’s tired of the life in Manchester.

De Gea was at fault for both the first and third imho.
Tired of earning 400k per week.

Brighton will beat Utd in the FA cup this weekend as well.

I've been watching Sevilla more than most for years, because I followed them and Betis a little while I was there for a few months. Sevilla are pretty mediocre. I've never seen them do anything when I vaguely want them to get a result, especially against a decent side.

There's something quite wrong with United, and Ten Hag hasn't fixed it yet, happily.
