Alfred Finnbogason scores for Heerenveen again - that's his 4th league goal in 3 games. He's scored in all 3 games, and netted 27 times last season. A bit surprised that he hasn't been linked with some of the mid table or newly-promoted clubs in the league. Celtic has been linked with a £3.25m bid - surely for that price, he'd have been worth a gamble for some of these clubs.

Palace have been good in defence and in midfield, after they got over their nerves in the first few minutes, .... but they have offered nothing in attack and this young kid (Gayle) who was non-league a year ago looks well out of his depth.

Paulhino has been anonymous. Chadli has been nothing special and doesn't look to have the skills (or maybe it's just the confidence on his debut) to beat his man, he missed an absolute sitter last second of the first half. Soldado quiet.

Spurs look very very average, Lennon their biggest threat and that says a lot. Fine shot from Siggurdson - who was another that was otherwise invisible. 0-0 HT. I worry that Palace don't have the stamina for 90 mins.

Spurs haven't built on their one goal lead - the longer it stays this way, the more likely they'll feel the pressure towards the end of the game as Palace, egged on by their fans, tries to steal a point. Hopefully that's what happens anyway.

So Palace lose 0-1 but a Bale-less Spurs looked less than impressive. Palace look like they lack the quality required to stay in this division but gave it their all today. They did look better once Chamakh, Williams and Philipps came on.

Surprised Spurs took Dembele (who was mopping up and stopping Palace getting forward, towit as soon as he left Palace had far more room) off as he (apart from Lennon) was their best player today. Dedinak (sp.) (CB) and Moxey (LB) stood out for Palace.
