I am not going to start a new thread or poll but who were the ones to say that all the talk around El Cunt was all PR.
I know Rosco and Farkmaster did at least.
I for one was taken in hook, line and sinker.

Ditto.
The book, whilst emotively compelling at times, was strangely vacuous for most of the autobiography. It was all me me me, moody pictures occasionally interupted by a sentence or two. I think we all bought into it, rather than the truth (as it now appears) that we were conned by 'el nino'.
The worst thing is that I knew he was going, but my sole wish prior to him going (in the summer I thought) was that I wanted to see him live. I saw him as the greatest striker of the last 30 years I had never seen at the match (been only 4 times since he joined and he was always rested or injured) so was desperate to see him.
Nando - in the last 30 minutes you have fucking made me so fucking apathetic towards you - I am delighted I never saw you live. I won't give a fuck that a 35 year old bloke despises you, but I don't give a fuck - I hope your club career is a fucking disaster, you mercenary.

someone bought me that book last xmas, and vacuous is the word. i've only ever flicked through it and skimmed the odd page, and i just took it as read that it was an empty PR act. it's not that i'm cynical - i couldn't really give a fuck if he wants to rip off gullible idiots with a self-serving book - it's just that it seemed self-evident: i'd never have thought of describing it as an 'autobiography'. it's just a load of glossy pictures with some risible filler about what he likes to eat or what tv shows he likes.
a stocking-filler, basically.
sorry, reading back that sounded harsh: obviously people buying for kids aren't gullible idiots, they're rightfully angry about all the bullshit.
