i'm just concerned that this might be the start. What if some of our other players feel the same as torres did? What if reina decides he wants success too. 1 trophy is an unfair representation to what is a great keeper

It's up to us now to be successful and start to progress. Ok, so Torres has gone, but we now have two 'good' strikers in his place, they have to perform and prove a consistent difference and improvement for us as a team and then we can say this has been a success and we're moving in the right direction. Anyone who isn't onboard, rowing in the same direction can do one.

Just read the interview and I must admit I'm baffled with some of his very uncanny comments. It almost hurt a bit but not as much as he'll be when Liverpool once again rise and he's not onboard.

Good luck Fer-Nando and all that but you'll not be remembered fondly for your stint at Liverpool. At least not for a long while.

Luis has it covered, fly nets style.

I'm astonished that we've become so sensitive. Why let one player's insensitivity annoy you? Seriously get a grip.

I know we've had a rough couple of years but we've now got owners who mean business, a manager who knows what he's doing and we've signed two hungry young players for fees we never thought LFC could pay again and if that's not enough we receive a British record transfer fee for someone who doesn't want to play for us.

There'll be a lot of anxiety around other clubs at the intent we've shown. Now isn't the time for doubts, it's time for bold decisions. The management have the balls to make big decisions, have we become so reticent that we can't enjoy the moment?

^^^ love it!

El Cunt (Yeah I'm sticking with it, so what?) really has hurt me and surprised me here. He's said it's his "destiny" to score against us in his debut on Sunday. I don't get it. Sure, he's brand Torres and a PR machine with many telling him what he should have said while he was with us, but I'm certain there was an affinity with us. I don't get why he's been so cold about it since he left. Is it something to do with what Mark has implied to us? I honestly don't understand the transformation.

He was definitely tapped up by the way, the cocksucker said "the last twelve days of talks have been tough". I'd love it if we reported the Chavs.

And finally, I saw some fucker with a death wish in town today with a Chelsea shirt with Torres on the back.

Torres says 'this is the top level' after leaving Liverpool
• Striker reveals talks had been going on for 12 days

Fernando Torres last night claimed he had advanced his career by joining "one of the top-level clubs in the world" after finalising his British transfer record £50m move from Liverpool to Chelsea.

The Spain international signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge last night worth £175,000 a week and revealed that discussions had been going on between the clubs for almost two weeks.

"I'm so, so happy and so, so proud to be here, finally, after these 12 days of conversations," said Torres on Chelsea TV. "But, at the end of the day, I can say I'm a Chelsea player and I'm really, really happy. This is the kind of team I like to play against because that motivates me, but it's the kind of team I want to play for. It's always very tough playing against Chelsea, it's one of the biggest teams in Europe, always fighting for everything.

"So, after this, there are no more steps forward. This is the top level. The target for every footballer is to try and play at one of the top-level clubs in the world, and I can do it now. I have to be very, very happy as I am. The last three or four days have been very hard for me, especially after everything I have lived in Liverpool.

"But, as I said before, I can say I'm a Chelsea player now. I'm really happy and I'm sure I am doing one big step forward in my career joining a club like Chelsea. This is a great club, a real responsibility and everyone is expecting great things about me and I'm prepared and ready for the challenge."

The Chelsea chairman, Bruce Buck, who also completed a £26.5m deal for Benfica's David Luiz, said: "This is a very significant day for Chelsea, capturing one of the best players in the world with his peak years ahead of him. We have long admired the talents of a player who is a proven goalscorer in English football and Fernando's arrival is a sign of our continuing high ambitions. I hope every Chelsea fan is as excited as I am with this news."

Yeah JJ, I'm pretty sure signing Carroll was last minute and done through the proper avenues. Oddly enough it seems to have worked better in attempt to sign Carroll by going to the club instead of the player directly.

i'm just concerned that this might be the start. What if some of our other players feel the same as Torres did? What if reina decides he wants success too. 1 trophy is an unfair representation to what is a great keeper
[/quote]

What do you mean, the start? We've lost our best players year after year now.

This is an opportunity to start anew, we've certainly got an improved situation off the pitch, but we've got a fair amount of work to do to get back to where we need to do on the pitch.

If you're an optimist you'll see this new start as an opportunity, with young players coming in with a lot to prove, if you aren't you can see us back at square one again, in a more competitive environment, with our diminished standing made plain by the departure of Torres. Both are true.

"Back at square one" may be a bit overdone. It would have applied had H and G hung on, but getting rid of them and then appointing the King are two big steps in the right direction.

If H&G had hung on, we'd be completely fucked. Square minus 1.

As it stands, we are a tier two club trying to get back to where we've been historically, in need of a new stadium to compete, and at the beginning of a squad rebuild.

Is this beginning to sound familiar? That's because we are back at square 1.

Adopting your definitions above, that's the pessimists' version. I happen to think the optimists are closer to the mark.

I think the fact that we are at the beginning of a rebuild in the same way that we were at the beginning of Houllier's reign, and the beginning of Rafa's reign is just a hard fact.

I do think we were, and now are in an improved position each one of those times.

John Aldridge blasts 'fraudulent' Fernando Torres & claims Liverpool will be stronger without new Chelsea man
Carroll and Suarez will offer more

Find the best odds and bet on the Premier League.
Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has hit out at Chelsea striker Fernando Torres for turning his back on the club's fans, but claims the future is bright at Anfield without the Spaniard.

The 26-year-old completed a British record £50 million move on Monday after handing in a transfer request, while the Merseyside club brought in Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll for nearly £60m.

The World Cup winner enjoyed a harmonious relationship with fans at Anfield and had previously committed himself to the club, saying he would never move to another Premier League side.

"He's been pretty fraudulent with Liverpool fans, who have stuck with him through thick and thin, and he's been very thin of late," Aldridge told Sky Sports.

"They've actually been making excuses for him, saying mentally he's not right or he's injured, but to be honest he's not looked half the player [he was] for some time."

The former Atletico Madrid man has found it hard to maintain his form this season after an injury-ravaged summer, often cutting a forlorn figure in a red shirt during his final few months, and Aldridge believes that the Premier League champions have a lot to do to get him back to his best.

"For Chelsea, it's a bit of a gamble," he said. "Can they resurrect him to what he was doing for Liverpool for the first two years? Will he shirk off the injuries that have been dogging him?"

He added: "But having said that, if he does click with Didier Drogba that's one hell of a frontline."

Aldridge went on to say that Liverpool will be stronger with the additions of Suarez and Carroll, who he described as "two excellent players".

"They'll get more from them; Fernando Torres has not won a game singlehandedly for Liverpool for some time," he continued.

The former Liverpool striker said the club could be optimistic about improving in future under the ownership of Fenway Sports Group.

Asked whether the signings of Suarez and Carroll were a statement from the new American owners, Aldridge replied: "Very much. People will say they utilised the money from Ryan Babel and Fernando Torres, but a lot of clubs wouldn't have done that.

"Man United didn't utilise the £80m from Ronaldo, and if Hicks and Gillett were here they wouldn't have done that, that would have gone on interest payments.

"I've got a funny feeling that it won't be the last couple of big signings.

He concluded: "I think Liverpool could have a bright future under these people."

The title of this thread and the exuberance of the expression is absolutely hilarious.

Also, the "Why is he so rude ?" part looks/sounds like Anita.

Proper LOL !
