...... Is now eligible for England I understand. Worth a go on the left side? He has pace & trickery, pops up with a few goals too. Or would the politics of a foreigner playing for England scupper any chance?

Like John Barnes?

He played in the euro under 21 champiosnhips for France, while having Congolese citizenship, that makes him eligible, right?

I used to think he was set for big things and for a brief spell wanted him in a red shirt, but apparently his attitude is shite and he has stalled career-wise.

We should be able to take two better left-sided players to take to SA; Cole, Young, Downing, Gerrard, Milner, etc.

Is he the best uncapped English player now ? Or is that Kevin Davies ?

Oh dear. lol

I could never work out how Steve Bruce never won lots of England caps.

He was playing for the best team in the country and winning trophies for what? 10 years or so?

How come he never won international recognition?

And how come he, Ferguson, or their many chums in the media never kicked up a fuss?

It's always puzzled me

Charles N'Zogbia

Was a great bargain for Wigan. 4 goals and 4 assist. constant threat cause of his pace, comfort on the ball, ability to play two positions in the PL. I rate Roberto Martinez, he knows how to set up his players instead of expecting wondrous tactical displays (Cause he's trying to teach football to Bruce's men) and he knows how to pump up a players confidence. His comment in January:

"He's got such an electric left foot [he reminds me of] Messi playing for Barcelona," Martínez said. "He's got that sort of deadly decision-making, he can go both ways right and left, he's got a great finish and very low sense of balance. The way he works and covers the ground makes him a very special player."

We all know Messi is far far better than N'Zogbia but since this comment, the latter has found some consistency during a hard run. I would have liked N'Zogbia in the summer. Probably far to expensive for us now.

Turns out he isn't eligible as he would had to have had British residency at the time of turning out for France. Which he didn't. So that's the end of that chapter.

Because of the competition for places at the time I suppose.

Adams, Campbell, Walker, Pallister, Butcher, etc etc.

All better than him. Pallister's pace bailed him out of the shit several times too. Still, he was a very fine centre back who was unfortunate not to have a decent International career.
