Citeh have failed to get their captain's red card from Sunday overturned, so he serves a 4-game ban.

Yay for us !

Great player for them. Means that using Carroll is an option again. Kompany made Andy his bitch.

Great news that he'll miss both matches vs. us.

99.5% "conviction" rate still intact huh?

horrible challenge. glad it was punished.

According to Ferguson, Nani was lucky not to receive a bad injury from the tackle. Not much chance of the card being rescinded after that.

4 games.... Bit harsh no? Does that mean he'll miss the return leg too?
[/quote]

His 2nd red hence the additional game

Hahaha, even funnier the second time. I came in to post exactly that, word for word.

This. Definitely this.

@BrianDurand56 @briankettle @jd77 @GrkStav @ScouserLA @JimBoardman @Andrew_Heaton RT FA - Report regarding Kompany Another interesting twist in this story, Kompany's ban has been upheld by the FA, a four match ban for his challenge on Saturday, and I decided to read the FA Report. It seems that 8 of the 9-man panel thought it should be overturned, but they need a unanimous decision to overturn red cards. The one man who refused to overturn the red card? You've guessed it, none other than Denis Smith.

Ignoring the garnish on the side of everything else, whole thing stinks to high heaven. Any how in the name of christ does a red card get a nine man panel and something as important as Racism allegations get 3. Makes me sick thinking about it.

Posted on another forum, can't find it myself on twitter. And there's no written report on the FA website.

Could be bollocks

Forgive my ignorance, whats the relevance in it being Denis Smith?

The FA's disciplinary panels are made up of three people - a chairman from the FA's panel, someone else who has played or managed within the professional game, and a third person from the FA Council, who has considerable experience in the game.

So it more than likely is nonsense
