i was at the game with mr moo, was a great performance by us and we were desperately unlucky to lose; have to say i was dreading a late equaliser, though, because i've never been so fucking cold in all my life.
have to disagree with Modo re Suso being the best player. surely it's as clear as day that Sterling is our best prospect by a long, long, distance. he had a quiet opening half hour, but after that was the best player on the pitch; just absolutely destroyed their right back time and again. has a little way to go with his final product, as you'd expect of a 17 year old, but he's one of the most talented english youngsters i've seen in a long time: all the pace, skill, trickery, and balance in the world. i wouldn't be surprised if he made the odd appearance this season, if the circumstances are right at some point.
thought are other front 3 were all good in certain ways, less so in others. Ngoo's finishing was laughably bad: he reminded me of a centre half getting a chance when up for a corner or something: just looked completely nonplussed in front of goal. i'd say Silva and Suso both have better chances of making it, but wouldn't bet on either. Suso has no physical attributes to speak of, so that's a massive disadvantage in the PL, and Silva... well, i like him, but he's definitely a bit short on class.
not sure about Coady. i doubt he has enough about him to make it as a central midfielder for us - maybe he could be a bit of a utility player. Wisdom and McLaughlin both look to have every chance, though: both obviously have the desired mix of athleticism and technique.
