Rumours, Lies, Innuendo and maybe, just maybe, an element of truth.

Di Matteo has admitted his interest in Ngog and is waiting to see if Liverpool would consider sending him out on loan. "Yes, he is a player we are interested in," Di Matteo told the club's official website. "But most clubs wait until the end of July and the beginning of August before deciding on which players they might loan out."

AND

..... but his agent, Bruno Satin, insists he wants to fight for his place at Anfield. "It's a bit strange for us at the moment," he said. "The boy wants to fight for his place at Liverpool. He thinks he has a good future at the club and does not want to be pushed out on loan. "To play for another club, he would have to want to go, and he doesn't. I can't make it any clearer.

Krisztián Németh has not joined the Reds squad for pre-season training in Switzerland and Austria amidst speculation he may well be leaving Anfield.
The 21-year-old who recently earned a senior international debut and played in the Greek top flight last term wants a chance to stake his claim for a place in the Liverpool first team. Though he accepts such decisions are ultimately for the club Németh's agent, Tibor Pataky, said his client would prefer a further period out on loan this term rather than leave. A permanent switch to Serie A outfit Lecce is on the table.

"Krisztian has a very clear opinion. He wants to stay as a Liverpool player, and his wish is to be successful as a Liverpool player, if Liverpool will give him a chance to fight," he said. "For now he is back at Melwood, he is working hard and looking forward. If he feels he will get a chance to make the jump into the first team, he will do everything he can to do so. But if not, then he is happy to go for maybe half a season to another club on loan."

Hannover manager Mirko Slomka has admitted that he is an admirer of Liverpool striker Krisztian Nemeth amid reports linking the Bundesliga club with the Hungary international.

Liverpool are believed to have agreed on a £5 million fee for the sale of full-back Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina. The young Argentine was understood to have been a key target for the Italian club, with speculation suggesting that several offers were made before La Viola got close enough to Liverpool's valuation for a deal to be considered.

Now The Daily Mail reports that the clubs have reached an agreement over the fee and that the 21-year-old is set to join the Serie A outfit in the next 48 hours. The potential transfer of the former Boca Juniors youth product would leave a question-mark over the left-back spot at Anfield, as Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena have already made exits from Anfield. However, it has been reported in the past that manager Roy Hodgson has lined up Wigan Athletic's Maynor Figueroa as a replacement.

Liverpool could be set to sell French midfielder Damien Plessis. The 22-year-old, who has struggled to take the step from promising youngster to first team player, is being tracked by Portuguese giants Benfica. According to France Football, Plessis is ready to leave Anfield in search of more playing time and greater opportunities. Benfica at first sounded Liverpool out about a season-long loan for the midfielder, but the cash-strapped Merseyside club are keen to sell Plessis. The Frenchman would cost Benfica around €700,000. Should a move to Portugal fall through then Plessis is ready to head back to France as he looks to exit Anfield.

Barcelona are considering a change of tack by turning their attentions to Liverpool ball-winner Javier Mascherano, as the potential transfer of Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal to the Nou Camp continues to drag on. If their move for Fabregas fails, Barca bosses are already considering alternatives with Liverpool stopper Mascherano top of the list.
Pep Guardiola is thought to be a big admirer of the Argentinean captain and sees him as the perfect foil for the more creative midfielders in his squad, such as Spanish World Cup stars Andres Iniesta and Xavi. However, Barca will face a battle to secure Mascherano's signature as he is already thought to be in talks with Inter MIlan over a reunion with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez.

He didn't look like a DM in the World Cup. How much did he go for, and does that mean Lassana Diarra's available?

I think Khedira's contract was up. So Madrid now have about 12 CM players. Including two Diarras. Although I think one of the Diarras has got sommat up with his blood (dropped out of France squad).

i really rate Lassa Diarra

He would be a very good option if we were to lose Mascherano.

Quick terrier like in the tackle and actually very quick feet to get himself out of trouble in the middle.

And he would make an excellent spy, as he's played for every club in Europe over the past two years.

Good to see a lot of the crap players are being linked with a move away, but a shame to see we're only being linked with new crap players.

haha that too..

He has had an interesting time ..

At Chelsea he was playing occasionally and found it difficult to push Mikel, Essien, Ballack and Lampard out of the centre so he moved to Arsenal... He hardly got a look in there so moved to Pompy- At pompy he played regularly and was VERY VERY impressive hence the big money move to Real.. Obviously with the number of quality midfielders at Real's disposal he finds himself once again on the fringes of the first team...

Id be very concerned if he joined Villa or Tottenham as they could actually provide him regularly starting 11 football where he would well and truely bloom. Still very young.

what was the situation with gago? he can't be even near the madrid starting line up now

or has he moved and i missed the memo?

Roy Hodgson today confirmed Liverpool are working hard to improve their squad for next season - but warned supporters not to believe everything printed in the newspapers.

The Reds have been the subject of much transfer speculation over the course of the summer so far, with a multitude of players linked with moves both to and away from Anfield.

Speaking at the club's Switzerland training camp, Hodgson revealed work is ongoing behind the scenes to ensure Liverpool kick off 2010-11 with the strongest possible squad.

However, the new manager urged fans to take rumours in the media with a pinch of salt until the Reds make any official announcements.

"We are working very hard on making certain the players we have at the club who you would call the 'good players' are going to be with us for next season," Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"The board are working very hard in that area. Some players are a bit disenchanted after what happened last season and we want to make sure we get that enchantment back.

"We are looking to add to and improve the squad, but I prefer not to talk or say what we are doing until we have something concrete to announce.

"We are being linked with players left, right and centre and it amuses me that we are sometimes linked with players we haven't even heard of.

"I have great faith in the Liverpool public that they will see through the snippets of information they may read in the newspapers, take it with a pinch of salt and wait for an official announcement."

Stuttgart deny Khedira claims
German club stamp on Bernabeu reports

Stuttgart have dismissed reports over an imminent move to Real Madrid for Germany international Sami Khedira.

Khedira, who is under contract at Stuttgart until June 2011, has been widely linked with a switch to the Bernabeu.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported that Real would unveil the 23-year-old midfielder as their latest signing on Thursday after agreeing a £9million deal with the Bundesliga club.

But Stuttgart's media spokesperson Oliver Schraft insists the reports are false, and that there has been no contact from Jose Mourinho's Spanish giants regarding Khedira.

"There is still no contact between Real Madrid and VfB Stuttgart," Schraft told Deutsche Presseagentur.

"That the transfer will be finalised in the next few hours is something we can clearly rule out."

Khedira's agent Jorg Neblung added: "There will be no big news regarding Sami in the next two to three weeks, as Sami is on holiday over these weeks."

'eck, i thought he looked alright when i saw him. He absolutely dominated when in south america

According to some Ipswich forum, Wickhams dad is in talks with us, Villa and Spurs over a deal worh 10 mill £.

Kenny wil get him..

How come we aren't linked with Khedira if he has only one year left on his contract? From what I've seen he's a good player and wouldn't cost too much, around 10M probably
