Nice one.

Seeing the goal from that angle makes it even clearer what a good piece of finishing that was from Borini.

Think it depends on which definition the stattos adhere to

The final pass or pass-cum-shot leading to the recipient of the ball having an attempt at goal without scoring.

or

A pass/cross that is instrumental in creating a goal-scoring opportunity, for example a corner or free-kick to a player who then assists an attempt, a chance-creating through ball or cross into a dangerous position.

Eventually, a day will come when all footballers will be forced to do a "Shearer" celebration when they score.

Have to say, Newcastle fans are despicable.

Noticed that their fans were applauding our goals when we scored the 4th, 5th and 6th goal.

I'm not sure, exactly, how that makes them despicable. If you see it as an act of treachery I don't agree. They were simply applauding the better team. Surely there's nothing wrong with that? If they were booing their own team, them I'd agree. Normally I wouldn't have any time for the Toon fans, but on this occasion I'd have to commend them.

They booed their own team, but applauding the team trouncing you is good form, it used to be commonplace at Anfield if we got beaten to clap the other team off at full time following them beating us, sadly the last time I was there only about half the people remaining thought to do it.

My seat in the Main Stand is uncomfortably close to the away supporters in the Anfield Road, so I get a good look at all of them in the course of every season.

I would say that the Newcastle supporters are easily the worst set of fans who come to Anfield. My reason for saying this is that they are mainly preoccupied by abusing the Scousers. They rarely find time to cheer their team on. Instead they are often to be seen pointing at us and singing songs about Scousers on the dole, poor housing conditions, missing stereos etc. etc. etc.

Of course, all visiting fans sing some of these songs, even Arsenal fans whom I rate as among the best, but the Toon Army take it to such a level that they forget they are supposed to be supporting their team.
