If by "football kit" you mean the entire thing (ie socks and togs) then yes, I agree. But surely wearing the shirt out and about for casual wear is ok?

Definitely an Irish thing, I've got like 12 shirts and my current one is the grey away strip from last season, long sleves with Gerrard on the back.

And I wear quite a bit even under a hoodie.
