Middle East Violence (content may offend)

The reason Iran is staying out of this at the moment is because along with China and Russia they want the traditional western alliance to look unhinged to the rest of the world, as they sign up all the trade deals. The West used to look like the voice of reason but now 80% of the world think we're ISIS. The less Iran does the more it gains.

Brics ... ?

Pretty much yeah. All the emerging countries are looking at the UK and the US and thinking fuck those idiots. Quite sure that's why Iran are keeping their nose out.

Not sure they're keeping their nose out ... directly involved in syria (soldiers on the ground) and trying to stabilize their border on the east. Indirectly involved with israel-hamas, israel-hezbollah, russia-ukraine (probably the only one they make money on), yemen and Iraq, though unsure Iraq is really a "conflict" like the others ...

Yeah but they're not doing anything mad. Like even when they threw a few hundred missiles in the general direction of israel they told the US and UK military 24 hours in advance who took most of them down even before they got to the iron dome. They don't want a war with us. They want to show they care that Israeli security services are killing their guests on their soil without escalating anything, so we look like dicks.

Caveat: I don't know shit

Interesting theory.

I read some interesting 'theory' about that missile & response by some Iranian dissident. He said what you said, and that Israel's response was in kind ... He went on to imply that they will likely do something away from Israel (A synagogue, or embassy in Europe, Asia or the US) as they're afraid of Israel's reaction. It's tough to tell where the truth lies but if their strategy is similar to what you write, then it will be interesting where it lies with BRICS etc

The dude I first heard it off was ex CIA, it makes a lot of sense. They're all off doing lithium deals with Africa while we're moaning about a long dead store owner or free footy tickets for politicians.

DRC has the biggest lithium mines in the world no? and they've not known some quiet since the fucking cunt Leopold arrived.

They have cobalt.

I think Australia has the largest reserves of lithium, but it's not easily accessible. Well, compared to other countries. Chile has massive reserves too but the locals are kicking up about it so perhaps they will go to Africa where locals tend to get fucked over easier than other places.

DRC is Cobalt/Coltan. More than everywhere else in the world combined.
Cobalt is an absolute key component in rechargeable batteries... so everything from laptop, phone, electric cars.

China has also gone into various countries, promised them loads and then created huge infrastructure inc the belt and road initiative.
Created hospitals/shipping ports etc in African and Asian Countries.

WOW - makes sense why that country can't 'settle' in any capacity.

China owns large parts of Africa - I think I'd call it benign colonialism (improve infrastructure and when you can't pay back, you do other favors)

Cobalt is also essential in oil refining. So the next time someone talks about the human rights violations of making EV batteries you can tell them that.

In Oliver Bullough book 'Money land'
He says

'Even those of us who like to think we know what's going on have no idea whats going on'

We don't really have an idea of how deep the corruption/power grabbing goes. I suppose we can only try to judge what we see as best as possible.

Pretty much everywhere claims to find largest deposits. Bolivia, Argentina, China themselves. US, Canada, Australia.

I recently read a book called Material World by Ed Conway. It's well worth a read, the amount of stuff we've dug out of the ground is mind-numbing. And a bit depressing.

It's OK, the moon is full of all kinds of useful shit and the billionaires want to get back there asap

If there's one thing that's most unbelievable in what has become of left wing/ultra-liberal/post-modern/whatever ideology in Europe and the US, it is the fact that it had convinced seemingly rational people to hate themselves.

In some ways that is even more radical than the Nazi ideology in its ability to make people completely lose it.

Man, I'm really just not a fan of our government supporting and arming a bunch of genocidal psychopaths who have murdered thousands of women and children.

OMG you sik lefties are worse than Hitler.

I'm starting to hate myself even more after reading blitzkrieg's latest post.

The reactions I've read over the last 48 hours from Syria are very interesting ... Obviously everyone in Assad camp is condemning. However, the entire anti Assad Syrian element hates hezbollah more than I think has been reported. Many of the folks eliminated Friday were among the generals who actively participated in the genocide in syria ... There's proper joy in that camp ... I wonder if they are feeding the intelligence as hezbollah are far far more compromised than was thought.

What the actual fuck is this post? It's just word salad.

Worthwhile post re how much Hezbollah are hated by other inc Syrians.

Ongoing killing in Syria with likely over half a million killed by combination of Iranian backed groups, Russia etc.
I'm just not sure they have the intelligence to pass onto Israel?
They don't seem particularly active outside their smaller areas, though I may be mistaken.

That's just as assumption - probably wrong.
I threw it out there because I've read there's Syrians in Lebanon (refugees) - they have a bone to pick obviosuly ... and with syria, they still capture the odd hezbollah linked fighters (lebanon and iraq) who may have information? Dunno.

Some twitter sources say that the beepers were activated one by one ... that seems impossible.

Looks who’s saying it.

Anyways, if you believe Iran and Russia are the good guys I don’t know what to tell you.

Frankly what is wrong in what was said in the video?

In the most recent UN GA resolution asking for the end of Israel's unlawful presence from Gaza and Westbank, out of 193 member nations, 124 voted in factor and 14 voted against it, with 43 abstaining. So the rest of the world is indeed saying Israel is doing something unlawful, unless ROW is defined as the 14 countries voting against it.

It won't be long before the U.S support for this wavers, as I'm not sure the US would like to be in this position of being against a majority of nations for too long, especially with China's rising geopolitical influence. It's merely a question of how much damage can Israel do before that moment arrives.

You've missed the point.

It's not about *what* was said.
Quoting Keni, "look who is saying it."

Doesn't matter if the guy said the sky is blue and the grass is green then well, he's a terrorist/self hating liberal and so should be ignored at best.. chucked off a building/murdered or whatver else
