Pushed on the matter of Saturday’s opponents, Martinez prefers to highlight a player he believes has been something of an unsung hero for Liverpool.
“We all expected Sturridge and Suarez to start the season well,” he says.
"I’ve probably been more impressed with the form of Jordan Henderson because he’s been outstanding and he’s a player maybe not many people expected to be so flexible and adaptable.
“He gives Liverpool the opportunity to be so flexible and play in different shapes and that’s a real threat.
