Thinks he owns the place

19 year old central midfielder from Red Star Belgrade. 6"3 and appaz very highely rated.

We are interested and have given him an offer.

It's been reported in Serbian media that Liverpool reps met with Grujic. zurnal.rs/fudbal/zvezda/… .

His what?
Hahaha. I think he's taking the piss, as it gives a list of strengths & weaknesses at the start of the video, & there's only one weakness, his lateral agility.

As I have no fucking clue what that is I can only assume his agent made the video & it's akin to saying 'I'm a perfectionist' when asked what your weaknesses are in an interview.

I stopped watching the video after they showed the first goal from six different fucking blurry arsed angles.

His quickness in moving sideways.

It's clearly an important factor when defending

Few snippetes from a Serbian Liverpool fan:

Italian media have dubbed Liverpool target Marko Grujic "The Next Pogba"! Grujic said that the Juventus ace is his role model. #LFC

Juventus, PSG, Inter, Roma, Wolfsburg, Manchester, Chelsea, Tottenham... A list of teams that really want him. So they've heard of him. 🙂

"I’ve had a conversation with LFC reps, but we haven’t yet reached an agreement. I’m still a Red Star Player.” Grujic #LFC (Mozzart Sport)

You can see a bit of Pogba and Barkley in his game in that video. Powerful running, and good technique to boot.

But I guess he'll need to be loaned out for a year or two in order to develop.

He'll go out on loan to somewhere in France or Italy when he signs for us and will never be seen again.
Rinse and repeat.

Liverpool have held talks with Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic over a potential £5million move to Anfield.

The ECHO spoke to Serbia-based teacher and journalist Vlastimir Stevanovic, who is also a lifelong Reds fan, to get the lowdown on the talented 19-year-old, who has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs.

What kind of midfielder is Grujic? What are his strengths?
If I had to compare Marko Grujic to anyone in terms of style of playing, I’d compare him to our own Steven Gerrard.

In Serbia they call him ‘the new Matic’ and in Italy they call him ‘the new Pogba’.

Zeljko Paunovic, the coach of the World Cup winning Serbian U19 national team, said the following about him: “He is good lad with great mentality.

“He’s not a born leader, but he’s not afraid to play big games. I think he is much more than a regular playmaker or attacking midfielder. He would be better suited as a winger or behind the striker. I think that he should play on the flanks and closer to goal.”

He can play offensively, but he would also be great at playing a deeper role, much like Pogba, which is actually how he plays at Red Star.

He is very tall and strong so he’s great at aerial duels. He has excellent vision, a great passing game and he possesses great game intelligence.

How highly rated is the teenager in Serbia?
He is very highly rated with some people calling him the greatest talent to come out of Red Star Belgrade since Dejan Stankovic.

How important has he been to Red Star’s success this season? Are they resigned to selling him?
He has basically resurrected Red Star this season. He is carrying the entire team. His Red Star teammate Luis Ibanez has said that Grujic is the main guy responsible for the success of the team this season. It is no secret that Red Star are having financial problems so they will definitely have to sell Grujic.

Have a lot of European clubs been watching him closely? And Is there any indication who he’s most likely to sign for?
He has been watched by Chelsea, Inter, Manchester United, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, and Juventus.

Dejan Stankovic, who is a Red Star legend, is working as a scout for Inter, and he is lobbying heavily for Inter. Chelsea are using Nemanja Matic as bait. However, the prospect of working under Klopp and Buvac is very attractive to the young player. Buvac probably knows him well, and it’s been confirmed by the media that Klopp has called Grujic a couple of times to express his desire to bring him to LFC. Apparently, LFC have been following the Red Star ace since he was 11.

Do you think he would be a good fit for the Premier League?
If Nemanja Matic was a good fit for the Premier League, then Marko Grujic will definitely be a good fit too. His style of playing and his physical strength would be ideally suited to English football.

What kind of price would Red Star want for him? Would £5million be a good investment?
The price will be higher than 5 million Euros. Even 10 million Euros would make it a good investment.

Could he leave in January or will they insist on keeping him until next summer?

Am I the only one who thinks he is average (I am going by his YouTube clips)? He looks slow and hesitant, his passing is straight forward and his dribbling is unremarkable and like Markovic seems to kick the ball in front of the opposing player and hopes that he runs faster. Fortunately for him it looks like there is a speedcap in the league he currently plays. Alberto would be in his element in the Serbian Super League. Also, why do we need another Allen for?

I'd be delighted if we signed him, part of the Serbian U-19 team that won the World Cup and is a big lad. Him and Emre C. can be our future CM's

Anyone else still get a buzz when they see Jurgen Klopp - Liverpool manager under a photo of the great grinning madman in our training kit?
Love it.

I'd prefer a tall Allen over our current version. At least he could compete for high balls ! Yeah, nothing spectacular in that clip at all but we do know they can be misleading, especially when seen from 4 different angles.

But when we are mislead by YouTube it's because the clips over exaggerate the players skills and abilities.
