Aslong as the Club is being run in the right way, and we see progress on the field we can't ask/demand much more.

When the powers at be starting fucking the Club and it's fans over that's when your faith in tested.

Yep, this is it.
We're completely shit for a few games, then turn in a mega performance and beat a Utd/Chelsea/ City which gives us loads of hope only for us to lose to Wigan or some crap team like that.
You do know there's only one person that can manage your expectations, emotions and how you react to them, right?

It's no worse for us 'oldies' (cheeky twat) than anyone else. Footy is a game of highs and lows. Things seem poo at the moment but you'll know, well hope, you'll have a few moments this season that make all the rest of the painful days worthwhile. True glory is a long way off but, if you don't have a bit of hope, you're following the wrong club.
Oh you know me i'm always optimistic, i'm just less bothered that we're shit sometimes cos i haven't got that much great to compare it to

There are some fans, despite what happned under Kenny last year that would honestly welcome him back, in fact would like BR to get the sack so he can come back. In short we have fans who are just very very thick.

That has absolutely never been in doubt, we have some of the most moronic reactionary fans in football, and the media will court the lunatics at every turn, some of our fans need to just go somewhere and have a good long sit down

In amongst the shambles of recent years and last week's debacle there is still room for some optimism. Namely I think we do have some very very good players and i like so far what the manager is trying to do, even if it hasnt quite worked as of yet.

The oligarchs at Chelsea and City have ramped up the money to silly proportions and nailed down 2 places in the top four which leaves 2 to fight for, one of which is occupied by Man U and the other usually by Arsenal. This makes in a financial sense at least a mid table club, but weve been paying huge money for players who were not gonna get is in the top 4. Theyve gone now and although we are yet to replace them in one way i think its better to finish outside the top 4 and not bleed money out to do so!!

MAYBE with Rodgers at the helm and the good players behind him and a good signing or two we can rebuild the right way trading on our following and eeking out good sponsors etc this is the way its gonna be....

Of course what we really need to happen is for Chelsea and City to get booted out no messing, they are cheating financially lets not gloss over it, and leave the competition fairer for the league,it is a big IF and you would have to doubt that our owners have enough nous and contacts to hold any sway over that happening.

Hey.... so far weve only got 1 point but i think weve played some good stuff and still have a shot of fluking back into the big league. Im hopeful about Rodgers and feel that however much it hurt to cut back our financial outlay we needed to do it. Personally I think that just for once our new kids are gonna save us.... positive vibes from me.

'GOON STOKE'?

(I love that sad-faced grey-bearded bloke above the 'Go' bloke on the left. A look of preternatural melancholy, sprinkled with contempt. 'Bloody cameras? Modern mechanical soul-stealers!')
