Nah, stop Carrick = stop MU.

As good as Rooney is, Carrick's the most important player in that side to their overall structure.
Exactly. He's like a metronome in their midfield. He makes them tick.

He sees the pace and tempo. He needs to be pressed hard and high up the pitch. We mustn't let him drop deeper and deeper and still set the tempo.

We should drop Studge for this one and go with the same team that beat City..

Daniel Sturridge should be benched for Liverpool's clash with Manchester United, claims Dietmar Hamann

Daniel Sturridge is not 100 per cent fit and Raheem Sterling has looked impressive up front, argues Liverpool legend Hamann

Dietmar Hamann believes Daniel Sturridge be left on the bench for Liverpool's upcoming clash with Manchester United.
Sturridge has made just 15 appearances this season due to ankle and thigh injuries, and Hamann feels the former Chelsea striker needs more time to regain his fitness.

In his absence, Brendan Rodgers has played Raheem Sterling up front, which is something Hamann argues should continue.

“I would not be surprised to see Sterling play up top, with Sturridge on the bench'" he told the Liverpool Echo.

“I don’t think Daniel is quite at 100 per cent yet, so I think it would be good to have him as a real weapon on the bench for the last half hour, and let Sterling stretch the United defence to start with."

He added: “If you think back to the game at Old Trafford, that was the first time we really saw Sterling used as a striker. And though we lost the game, we created more chances than we had all season, really, and he made a big difference.

“I think he’s played that role beautifully since. It changes everything when you have that pace up front, because you can stretch the game.

“It would be a big call to leave Sturridge out, but I just think Sterling may be the way to go.”

Liverpool host United on Sunday knowing a win will take them above Louis van Gaal's side in the Premier League table and into the top four.

I've been thinking the same thing. It's better to drop Sturridge than play Sterling RWB, but I'd imagine getting picked should help Sturridge's confidence

Shitting them. I admire all the positive talk about us potentially blowing United away with our pace and movement, and pressing etc etc. But in these games, you just don't know. Form goes out the window as they say.

Come on Reds!!!

Martin Atkinson warming up for the game now:

Sevilla vs Villarreal -
And then Bailly is shown a second yellow card and Villarreal’s faint hope of a comeback against Sevilla is extinguished in little to no time. Iborra did a good job in getting Bailly sent off there. He threw himself up in the air after very little contact.

You can see the second yellow card Atkinson gave at about the 1:10 point of this clip. Like I said, this guy is the one we need to be most wary of in the opposition:

Not really though. Form normally plays a major part or has so in recent years.

Two goals inside in the first 10 minutes please.

Henderson and Studge.

Then another before half time from Coutinho with Sterling added a fourth just after half time.

Strange statistics:-
- the Mancs have let in 2 goals just thrice this season. That is joint-best with Southampton.
- the only time they let in more than 2 goals, they conceded 5... to Leicester! 😀
- they've had 10 clean sheets and conceded just 1 goal in 15 games. #DeGeaForMVP

Can't believe the league's bottom team is the only one that has scored more than 2 goals against that shit defence. Guess we'll have to do the honours and correct that stat at Anfield this Sunday.

Just realised after this game is the bullshit internationals. Meaning if we lose its 2 weeks of thinking about it.
Please Lord...

Is he usually card happy yeah?

I might have a bet on some booking so.

Hahahaha.
Thats exactly what we would do.
Its funny.

Plus who gives a fuck if the Queen gave them a medal or not. They picked them up from heads of state all over Europe every May.

Bang on. I'd turn a royal honour down - I can't stand the royal family. Who's to say Bill and Bob didn't turn theirs down.
