Valencia always seems to play well against us.
He's going to have to get past Sahko though!! I think De Gea could be their most important player - he is long overdue an average performance

Completely agree. Studge was really important to turning that game around last night. Despite Ryan not seeing any running, I saw plenty, and whilst he is definitely lacking a bit of form I think it is crucial we have him in. He repeatedly received the ball in good positions after making runs last night in the 2nd half. I wish he'd scored that late goal (which was an impishly clever attempt).
As I predicted a few weeks ago, Studge has a few repeat critics on here (Ryan being one). We just need to remember he is by far our best finisher. If he had been on the end of all the chances Sterling squandered at OT it would have been a different game. Yes, he's not 100%, but he has to play.
Is Ibe back? I don't think Sturridge needs to change, but I don't like playing Lallana/Sterling at RWB, I think it ruins out shape a little.
Brad Jones was on the bench last night.M Balotelli Illness 22nd Mar

No game for 13 days?!
Fuck. That's some serious diy I'm gonna be doing in the next couple of weeks.
Got my new server to build & play with as well. Happy days.

Ha. Home server. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have them (or a nas) now, over the next couple of years I imagine they'll be fairly commonplace.Server ??
Are you turning your home into a cheap data centre ?
Fellani will probably target Can..
Hopefully Can will come out on top on that one..
I hope Rodgers stops trying to squeeze all of Lallana, Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge into the team. Competition for places is what it should be. If having just three of the four on the field works better for team balance, then do it that way.
Trying to fit everyone in by playing Lallana at RWB just weakens the defence on the right, and pulling Sterling back to RWB just reduces his involvement and weakens his contribution to our attack. Playing either one of them there takes them away from where they best do damage to opponents. It's just not a good move and I wish Rodgers would stop trying to force the issue.
I know Markovic hasn't been too good on the attacking end, but as others have said, he's actually improved and defended pretty decently - at least he puts in a shift. Until Ibe is fit, we should just keep going with him for now (or give Flanagan a turn when he's available, e.g. against Blackburn away).
Right now, my choice would be to go with Sturridge and Sterling in a two-up, with Sterling in Suarez's old role (i.e. workhorse up front + freedom to roam around), and with Coutinho behind them. Then stick Henderson and Allen behind Coutinho, alongside Moreno and Markovic.
To me, Lallana's gone a bit Kewell lately - he's clearly very talented and has great ability and good workrate, but he's also too bloody soft and a borderline pussy when it comes to physical play. He's got the pain threshold of Borini, and for someone who wants, sees and carries the ball a lot, that's a really bad thing for us. How many times have we seen this lately - one slight tap, clash or knock, and he's down on the pitch clutching an ankle, knee or thigh, possession's lost, no free kick earned, and we're a man light as the opponents come forward while he nurses a (phantom?) bruise on the pitch. It's the most frustrating part of watching him for me - more than the over indulgence in possession which irk some.
I really enjoy watching him play otherwise. Maybe he can be given some titanium knee guards, shinpads and ankle guards.

I've thought more about it.
Sterling will start at wing-back. United aren't gonna change a winning side dramatically, and that include keeping Blind at left-back with Young slightly ahead. Sterling up against Danny Blind. Blind. Sterling. BlindSterling. On the same wing. All aboard the rape express.

The problem was, Swansea compressed the space between the midfield and defense, so the outlet always had players around them.
A big issue is Mignolet, regardless of instruction to "not hoof it", when he picks up the ball and you see around 6-7 players break off him ready for his kick/throw, he hesitates and hesitates, slowing the game down, until the opposition regroup and he then rolls it to a centre half who is immediately under pressure. It's frustrating, especially when we're one of the best counter-attacking sides in the league.
What do you think the score will be?
Or if you're feeling less adventurous, who do you think will win?
And my EJWS (Early Jinx Warning System) is about to deploy some big fucking missiles
