Its seems Fatigue is his problem

He just cannot play back to back games over a few days.. and continue that way.. He's no VVD or Gomez in that manner..

Lovren has been solid since he came into the side, despite just coming back from an injury... Yeh he was awful last night, but people have to cut him some slack here I think..

I just think fatigue played its part last night.. Not the first time this has happened with him.. Sadly we had no choice but to play him, due to injuries at CB and having no adequate back up..

Doesn't he have back and knee issues and his training regime has to be managed because of this..?

No, he's not getting any slack. He's just not good enough. In limited appearances and against the mid to low table teams he'll perform well.
But he's been here before and has pedigree against the top teams away. The Spurs match last season is the perfect example.
He's mentally fragile and if he makes one mistake early in the game he seems to just go to shit.

Replace him this summer.

Exactly. He's fine for about 80-90% of games, but too often fucks up against the big teams. Add that he's the only player who lacks the discretion of the rest of the squad when it comes to dealing with the press, the lad is just about getting away with it because we're short on options.

He was poor yesterday, he had Aguero in the first place and let him go and showed a complete lack of awareness of where he was and no recovering ability whatsoever. VVD would have stopped that.

Stop making excuses for him. He is what he is. Wouldn't be near our first choice but for injuries so, for now, I suppose he's all we've got. But for Alisson his shite defending would have seen us out of the CL.

He's OK as a stand-in IMO, but given a run in the side he ends up reminding us what we've missed during Gomez' absence.

And yet somehow we're still top of the league. 😎

Against all odds. A ClubCaptain With gait who the great Ferguson never would have signed…. A Donkey in defence who noone would ever play.... A flabby melt carrying the attack and a blind manager with nothing in his toolbox but a stupid grin..... This will never last!!

All of his public comments lead me to believe he's a thick cunt. So that's problem number one.

But if you watch him on a game to game basis his positioning is often out of sync with the rest of the back four. And he is always just a bit slow to react physically and mentally.

Some of that is down to basic bad technique - for example he is almost always on his heels and he's never going to be able to react quick enough against the likes of Aguero because of it. The first goal last night is a perfect example of that.

He thinks he's the best in the world so he probably doesn't see the need to improve , he's a lost cause. A lost cause with two and half years left on a 120k a week on his contract. He must be the highest paid sub centre half in the game ?

Yeah we've all pretty much washed our hands of him. I can't decide how much credit Aguero should get for getting in front of Lovren for their first goal? I suppose it was a mix of Lovren caught napping and Aguero making an excellent run but I think Lovren is definitely at fault here.

Another thing to note is that Lovren has a habit of relinquishing possession by chipping it down the line straight to an attacker. Hurry back Joe.

He's among the best 3rd choice CB's in the league, but like most, I'd like to see us replace him with better.

He doesn't need replacing..

He is 3rd/ 4th choice.. and adequate enough as 3rd/ 4tb Choice..

Point I was making he has qualities, no doubt about it, but he tends to falter when he gets a run of games.. He is not cut out to play a game every 3 - 4 days..

He should be playing against lower opposition..

Gomez and VVD should always be first choice

He needs knocking down to 4th choice

Yes, the possession bit does my head in. It caused the goal against Arsenal as well if I remember correctly. Chipped ball towards one of our players who are under pressure in our own half.
He also seem to always head the ball straight to an opposing player. Always.

There was a moment late in the game last night where he gave up an easy chance to someone, the ball came back to him in the box and he cleared the ball straight to Sterling who shit just wide.

I was fit to kill Lovren at that point

The thing about bad defenders is in short spurts they can look good on account of sheer randomness as opposed to anything else.

The more they play the worse they look because you give them more opportunities to fuck up.

When is Joe Gomez back?

Hell, when is Matip back?

Need these 2 back ASAP.

Lovren, god bless him, is a weak link in this team.

We need this partnership back together...

Reminds me of a typo I once saw quoted in a Private Eye book of misprints about a player who tried a sh!t from 20 yards which ended up near the corner flag.
My dad was hard of hearing and loved his golf. So he was delighted when the BBC introduced subtitles for the open. As it was real time it led to typos. One in particular had Colin Montgomery playing a beautiful shit right into the middle of the green
